I might catch some flak for saying this... In my opinion, it is extremely practical for what it was built for as well as many other applications (for those of you who are not familiar with the original intent, it was built to be held by a "shield man"- entry team personnel at the front of a stack), but damn that thing is ugly! It may be the wave of the future for revolvers but I prefer the look and feel of wood grips and blued steel! I for one am sick of seeing so many different manufacturers putting more rails on a gun than any real life operator would ever use! This has reached near epidemic levels and some guns are well past ridiculous, look up the Mossberg tactical lever gun (Whiskey/Tango/Foxtrot)!
I don't mean to rant too much here, the r8 is a great gun I'm sure, just don't ask me to call it pretty.
