My Son Picked this Stainless Engraved Bodyguard 380 up during the pandemic just to have a small pocket gun..
Now We got a 380EZ & also have a 2.0 9mm Shield 7/8 rounder + I have a couple Hk USP Compact 40s as far as handguns go.
Thinking about putting the Bodyguard 380 up on Armslist Locally for $350..??
The size of the little gun is the thing, It's just so handy of a size & weight..
If I keep it I will want a Hogue Grip & more than likely the Galloway Precision Santiago Short Stroke Trigger Kit Too!!
That's spending a lot of money that could just go toward a Better Unit for say..?? Glock 42? Maybe?

SIG P365 has been talking to me too!! Darn Little German 9mm

Most little 380s are finicky to say the least because of the ammo quality mostly other by design being blowback etc.
I've had a Walther PPK/S, Grendel P-10, Colt PocketLite 380 etc. & every one of them had troubles.. The 380EZ is the 1st 380 I've ever seen that's been 100% so far with both of them I've owned.. So Easy to Operate & Load almost like a 22lr..
I sure miss my old Ruger MKII 6 7/8" Target Model..

I was hoping almost that someone would talk me out of selling the M&P Bodygaurd 380. it's small & Handy but so is my Shield 9mm, BUT I have 300 380s for EZ now..

BUT Another 380 EZ Came along for $359OTD.. With Safety BTW..

Sons Birthday is later this Month BTW, been thinking about some goodies to get him Aug 26th?? LH Holster or the 380EZ??
This unit looks nice & is really inexpensive to boot + available Left Handed..

Here's a couple of size comparison pics with the .380 Bodyguard and Sig P365. The BG is considerably less bulky, but the advantages are mostly realized with pocket carry. Which IMHO is the only real strength of the BG.

I still have both, but the BG only gets carried when nothing else will work.

Thanks Rodan!!

I should take a Picture of the Shield 2.0 next to the Bodyguard 380.
I've wanted one of those SIGs since I first saw them a couple years ago
Pricey but includes X-Ray night sights..
Doubt it would give me anything I don't already have.. Just a Couple more Rounds in the magazine..
I'm trying to talk myself out of the SIG Too!! "I Don't Need It!" WANT!!

Sorry my Wife just fell off the back porch & hit Her Head & landed on the concrete below.. She's messed up.. Might have to take Her to the Hospital?? She's having a soda pop now will have to wait & See!!
Bye!

Hey Rodan You're disassembly lever on the BG380 looks to not be behind the spring in that 1st photo..

Is The P365 you're #1 Carry Pistol??

Mine has become the Shield 2.0 9mm..

Wife is OK.. She's watching Liberal TV Though?? WHAT??
Must be Head Trauma.. Maybe I should draw Her up a Bath..
Gave Her some frozen peas for Her head as an Ice Pack.. Small Scratch on Her Skull, couple bloody toes & forearm scraped up..
She doesn't want to go to the Hospital.. SO??
I've been married 38 years BTW..

Thanks for the reply Rodan
It really helped me..

Forget the gun stuff for now. Get your wife to the hospital asap. You don't want to mess with head injuries. Mrs. swsig fell a couple of years ago and hit her head. While fortunately there was no head damage, they discovered she'd also suffered a fractured pelvis. Better to be safe than sorry!

I had a Ruger LCP 2. My Kahr K9 carried so well, I thought that I didn't need the LCP, so I sold it. After carrying the K9 on vacation for an extended time, I realized my mistake, and my need for a pocket pistol. So, I bought a Bodyguard .380. A month later, Ruger brings out the LCP Max, which I just purchased. Pocket pistols have their place. I'm sure that the EZ380 is a fine pistol, but it isn't a pocket pistol. Keep the Bodyguard!

I'll double check... thanks for the heads up.

Keep an eye on your wife... sometimes head injuries can be very serious, but still take a while to show symptoms.

The P365 and XL have definitely become my preferred CCW pieces. In fact I sold my Shield 9 yesterday. The P365 shoots better than the Shield, in either size, and carries more rounds. The P365 loaded with 11 rounds was 1/2 oz. heavier than the Shield with 7 rounds.

Obviously, my XL with optics is bulkier, but it shoots darn near as well as a full size gun. And with 12+1 on board, and a 15 round reload, it's a pretty potent CCW package.

Hello,
I hope all is well with your wife. Sometimes it doesn't take much to be serious.
FYI, My wife has a Shield 380 EZ because of her limited hand strength and can't Rack her Shield 9 2.0 but finds the EZ too large to carry on a regular basis. She tried my Glock 42 and LCP II but has trouble racking the Glock's slide and doesn't like the recoil of the LCP II. We were at the LGS a while ago picking up my new Shield 9 PC 4" and noticed they had a LCP Max at the rental range, she tried it out and loved it, Recoil wasn't bad and she could rack the slide fairly easily. They didn't have any for sale so we ordered one from Cabela's. I have not been allowed to shoot it yet but since she is using my 380 stash I might be able to soon. The Max pocket carries almost as easily as the LCP II and fits in the same holsters. It is always nice to have options when concealed carrying.

I purchased the BG .380 in ‘14 but had to move it along due to light strike issues. It was repaired by S&W but I’d lost confidence and don’t know if this problem was ever corrected. My Ruger LCP has been 100% for years, hundreds of rounds & fills my need for a small pocket gun.

I have seen a few folks having light primer strikes with some ammo..
Makes me want to order the 10% Extra Power Hammer Spring for the BG380.. Picked up a Hogue FDE Grip for the BG Today for $10..
Here's a Few Photos of the Size Comparison between Bodyguard 380, Shield 2.0 & Hk USP Compact..

i had a BG380 but sold it off fairly quickly. Was a few years back but I recall a heavy trigger pull and definitely remember a poor fit in my hand. To each their own however!

I learned to adapt when I purchased mine in 2014 and she has been my go to EDC since.Never a light strike, shoots accurately with SS guts and barrel.NEVER had to use second strike capabilities.

My Son wants to Flip the BG380 when His 380EZ Returns from SAW
I Took some Photos for the Sale Today of the BG

I’d never sell my Bodyguard. Had it since 2015. With that long heavy but smooth trigger pull it’s the best pocket pistol for me. Not to mention it’s super slim and light. I am strongly considering adding a p365 to my collection, but never to pocket carry. I’d only carry it iwb.

I came across these two SIG P365s locally..
The $389 Used one w/ safety is gone
The New $499 is in stock every day there

We have never even given the BG380 a chance really..
Read too many bad reviews mostly about light primer strikes which IMO putting the spacer on the mainspring or the extra power spring could cure that but would increase trigger pull weight slightly..

If the pistol doesn't sell for $350 I'm Gonna Buy it from Him & work on making it MY Pocket Pistol.. = Grip, Extended Range Magazine + Possibly Galloway Short Stroke Trigger Kit + Extra power mainspring & recoil spring set..
