Thinking about trying to carry my model 10

This S&W 64-2, 4" heavy barrel carries just fine with Grashorn stag stocks in a Bianchi Shadow 8L holster.

A Galco open top design that also rides high and tight on the belt.

I have a beautiful, pristine nickel 10-5 four incher that sat in my bedside table for 30 years, unfired, until my wife chose it for her CHL class last weekend. I figured she'd prefer my 10-5 snubby. The four incher would not be my carry choice, if I had a choice, but it's a mighty fine gun.

Well, I was at my buddy's house the other day, and he gave me a pair of Pachmayr grips he wasn't using. They are definitely a lower profile than the Hogues. I went ahead and tried carrying it last week. I have to wear a bulkier cover garment than is needed with my compact 9, but it was fairly comfortable. I could stand a slightly larger size in my pants waist. This is not really needed at 2:00.

Anyway, it works. I still much prefer the 9, but wouldn't have a problem carrying this weapon at need.
