Any options anyone suggest? I want a safety. Does it have a optics ready version, or is it by default?
Recommended pocket holster ?

Thx for suggestions.

I've been looking at them myself. There's no optics ready version, at least as far as I'm aware.

I picked up a no-safety version last month. To date the Bodyguard 2.0 has been a bunch of mediocrity.

Mine would not chamber some old Wolf steel case. Did eat several other brass cased ammo.

The sights… shooting two inches left at 10 yards. My sight adjuster didn’t fit the small slide.
“adjusted” the sights by banging to only one inch left on the second range trip.

More hammering on the third range trip got it shooting mostly to POA. These lack of centered rear sights is reportedly common.

My BG2

I bought one (BG2 with a safety. I find it easier to take off and on than I read in some of the reviews. Personally, I like having this option. Gun functions well, though I have experienced issues with the sights as many reviewers have discussed. A gun that size, is most likely to be used in a close encounter and pocket carried. by many owners. I don’t see a role for an optic. Get sights adjusted or replaced (if this is an option).

The big turn off for me is the fact that the Bodyguard 2.0 has the same length barrel as the tiny original LCP, 2.75". The Glock 42 may have less capacity, but it has a half an inch longer barrel. With a borderline caliber like .380 that can make a big difference in expansion. I'd rather have seven rounds that have a good chance of working versus eleven that might not.

Five of us, locally, have purchased the 2.0 version, and none have been unhappy thus far. The pistol is surprisingly small (smaller than it looks), and has mild recoil. This last is due to a low bore axis and a truly ergonomic grip.
Trigger is gritty in places; several hundred 'pulls' with the gun uncocked, will smooth the rough spots. Trigger break is surprisingly clean, for such a small, striker fired pistol. Break is somewhere around 4lbs.
The guns shoot left. The rather wide rear sight can be adjusted, but it takes some firm beating with a drift and hammer.
The 12 round changes a really small pistol into a somewhat larger one, and the 10 is most useful...unless you have really large hands.
The mags are bears to load, and require a Lula to fill. The 12 round mag spring nests when compressed, while the 10 round spring stacks. Seating either against a closed slide requires some force.
It is a really amazing pocket pistol.

My bodyguard 2 also was shooting left. The front site was moved (right) without too much difficulty.

Bodyguard 2.0

I looked at the S&W Bodyguard 2.0 last
week at my favorite Gun Shop.

I like it. Small, slim, and trim. Easy to
carry and conceal. It had the Safety on
it, I like that option. Sights were centered.
Slide spring was strong. Very ergonomic
for me.

I can see why it was awarded Hand Gun
of the Season.

Ive had all of the issues most people mention in the forum: sights not aligned, magazine follower getting stuck, new stiff springs, feed ramp needed polishing. That said it shoots like a bigger gun, much better than LCP Max and all issues fixed in an afternoon. I went with Muddy Rivers IWB, but plan on a pocket holster from Theis because it worked well on my LCP.

It seems like moving the front sight to the right would cause the firearm to shoot further left. I thought the old adage was, “Move front sight opposite of desired Point Of Impact shift, move rear sight in direction of Point Of Impact shift?”

I've heard it summarized in the acronym 'FORS.' Front Opposite, Rear Same.

My bodyguard 2.0 with thumb safety is a very good pocket gun. Have only fired about 50 rounds, but no issues. The thumb safety is stiff, but will never be accidently engaged or dis engaged. IMHO it is better than the LCP max.

Trijicon makes a red dot adapter plate that fits the original Bodyguard and the Bodyguard 2.0. I saw a photo of one mounted on the BG2.0 but it's wider than the slide.

I trust the Glock 42; I've heard to many bad things about the Smith Bodyguard, so I'll stick with the proven performer.

Really like mine - no safety. Only 50 rounds so far. My rear sight needs adjustment too. Easy shooting.

I do wonder how many .32’s they could shoehorn in that magazine - I do love me some .32’s.

I've got about 400 or so rounds through mine. The sights are dead center, front and rear, but I still shoot to the left, as I do with many other small pistols, like the LCP, and the Kimber "mini 1911's" which tells me it ain't the gun. I'm getting better with it, but it's not like shooting a Python with wadcutters. Get a good magazine loader like an Uplula. You'll need it. There is no discrase in using one. I've been using one for years with Glocks, Shields, and darn near every other semi-auto pistol I've fired.

I just added a set of Talon grips, mostly to make the grip just a tad fatter. Cheap, and easy to install or take off if I don't like them.

I've wondered about one in 30 Super Carry. I don't know if the pressure is too high or the cartridge too large for the small gun or not. The recoil might get your attention too. I'll leave that to the engineers.

I own a BG 2.0 with 3K rounds. I’ve owned several micros in past 2 years - 365X, Reflex, Glock 42, Hellcat, LCP Max. I shoot them all left, no biggie, I just compensate with sight picture and I consider myself a step above average shooter!
