This boggles my mind ...

Innocent until proven guilty. Everyone deserves a fair trial.

Much of the evidence against him is based on testimony from one of suspected accomplices, who is getting a deal.

He may be guilty, he may not be. That's what trials are for.

NFL = National Felons League!

In today's news , Indianapolis Colts safety Joe Lefeged was arrested early Saturday after officers found an unregistered semi-automatic pistol in the car he was riding in, Washington DC police said.

Washington DC!?!? :eek::eek::eek:

True, altho i still find it hard to fathom how he even got to this position...
Wish these athletes would be forced to work a real job for a year, see if they think they got it so bad then...

In regards to the Hernandez incident, I suspect that as everyone here does that a LOT more will come out at trial. I agree with V1 Rotate here, athletes and sports in general are given a free pass for far too many things and far too regularly. CNN did a story yesterday afternoon on pro sports players owning guns...which shows just where the media is going to try to again give them a free pass once again. Anyone remember Michael Vick's "problems" a few years back? As long as this behavior on both the players, teams, league (yes, THEY are part of the problem as well), and the public's willingness to accept it...then it will steadily get worse as time goes on. I am not a pro sports fan and haven't been in many years...this kind of stuff is one of the reasons as to why.

Thug in, thug out. The National Felon League (as mkk41 referred to it, but a label I have seen repeatedly before) is infested, as are most college sports, with bangers. It's an open joke in LE, but most other folks don't know or don't care. I pay virtually no attention to college and pro sports as I have no interest in supporting the filth who infest them and the people who enable that.

So far the ADA prosecuting hasn't mentioned a cooperating witness of any sort. Everything presented at the bail hearings was forensic evidence of some sort or another. Much of it is based on cell phone and credit card records, including where the cell phone towers used were located, purchase records, and the content of text messages. Also there is a considerable amount of surveillance camera video that puts the rented car at certain places at certain times. Some of that is from cameras mounted on public infrastructure in Boston. Of which there is a lot. In fact, our internal Professional Standards people, use that a lot when there are complaints regarding our EMTs or paramedics. The rest of it comes from private entities that were asked to review their own systems and did.

I don't doubt that the alleged accomplices will be asked if they want to cooperate, but I don't know that their testimony will be the foundation of the case or even used.

He'll go to trial, as he should. His defense team will do everything that they can to get an acquittal or at least reduce the charges to something less severe. Whether or not that will work, we won't know until the jury is back from their deliberations.

I think it's safe to say that he won't be playing anywhere this season.

The gang mentality is why earn respect when you can get it just by kiling somebody?

Sadly, I know that as I used to have to help "pick" them out when I was employed in Law Enforcement. I see it all the time around here. One time I decided to take the City Bus to go to a store to shop at, and had no trouble on the way over or on the way back. After I got off the bus with hands full of bags of stuff, I stepped off the bus-rounded the corner of my street-and a car with 4 young Hispanic "males" in it stopped at the corner-threw me their gang signs--and I laughed at them and walked away. Ive seen them cruise by several times these past months and they no longer "throw" their gang signs at me. Im ignored now and lovin it. :D

The only Sports I watch on the tube anymore are: Female College Baseball, Off Road Racing and Le Tour de France races-even if that sport is also infested with drug abusers who want to win unfairly.

One thing is for certain if he is found guilty? is that once in prison, he will have more than enough money he can place into his Commissary Account.

Exactly, and its not like he was shunned for that week either, just heard how great he was... Exactly whats wrong and make these people think they can do anything...
Actually a wife of the losing team in that game stated some "facts" about the player you mention......She caught holy hell from most of the media about her "insulting" comments. ! She ultimately chose to crawfish on her words.

I forgot all about that!! Ya shame on her for bringing that up, hes a family man with 6 kids 5 different women, thats a role model!!!

One thing I was wondering about; I wonder if his
buddy with the ventilated skull thought he could make
some easy money by threatening to spill his guts to
law enforcement.

I picked up the sports page this AM to learn that DJ Hernandez, Aaron's brother, is a coach for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was hired early this year. The story says he was 'present' at a fight in a diner in West Harford CN last weekend. Story says he was mistaken for Aaron.

Good luck to us.

I don't know...

I still enjoy an evenly matched women's beach volleyball game from time to time. ;) :D

Has anyone been following the Aaron Hernandez story this week? The guy is 23, has a fiance and infant daughter, signed a $40 million contract with the NE Patriots, was a premier player ... and is now charged with murder (and being investigated for two other murders) for allegedly shooting (or orchestrating the shooting of) a friend who supposedly disrespected him by talking to people he didn't like at a club. Has the world gone mad? This guy is either the dumbest man on the planet, or has an evil streak running through him that no one knew about. Even the judge who denied bail asserted that the circumstantial nature of the case is so strong that risk of flight is possible.

With every bit of additional information, I'm left shaking my head.

He's not the first knucklehead; Michael Vick(dog fighting), Ray Lewis(murder) and Rae Carruth(murder) of the Panthers come to mind.
What are we saying as a society to our young adults that look up to these idiots...it's OK?
We need better guidelines (you want to play), here are the rules; they need to start at the college level. Break them and a bar to play professional sports will be placed upon you. Too easy.
Look what Baseball did to Pete Rose for gambling....just saying.

OK, whats in the water that is making the NFL and NBA thugs? High T, roids?
