Got this MAG-7 shotgun a couple of weeks ago from a local gunsmith friend that took it in on trade and when I saw it I had to have it. It takes shorty 12 gauge shells from 5 round magazines and has almost no recoil. They are made in South Africa and some were imported here maybe 10-15 years ago. The original versions of the guns have about a 8" barrel and no stock, to import them they added a wooden stock and a 20" barrel. Those guns look like this -

Mine had a cobbed up skeleton stock that looked terrible. I found pics of one that had an Uzi folding stock adapted to it that looked great so I ordered a stock and took it back to the gunsmith with the pics I found and he worked out mounting the stock to the gun and did a terrific job. I also had him cut the barrel down to 18". Don't know what I'm going to do with it but it's fast handling and pretty damn neat, plus my 10 and 12 year old boys think it's about the coolest thing they've ever seen.

Here's a couple of pics of mine, what do you guys think?

You're right , that is VERY cool. I'd have bought it, too. Wonder if you can make those "shorty" shells, I've seen them at gunshows.

I think that's very inventive of you, and a keeper. Something short and maneuverable like that could be an invaluable home defense weapon IMHO.

Thanks guys. The 'smith says he can cut down regular 12 gauge hulls and load them with anything I want. The S. African ammo is 60mm (2.36") long but the readily available Aguila and Centurian 2" shells will work as well. I got a couple of boxes of ammo with it so we can use those to pattern anything we load after.

The shorty shells are a standard Aguilla product. Work in some pump shotties (Winchester, for example) but not in others. Also work fine in single and double barrel shotties.

I saw those little guns when first imported, and had the hots for one. Just couldn't come up for a use for one, so never "pulled the trigger".

Take it to the duck blind. The ducks will give up the ghost upon seeing it. Just don't point it at too big of a flock, don't want to go over the limit. :D

Seriously, now there is ANOTHER gun to put on the list. Good job with the UZI underfolder.

Just the sight of it would be enough to give any Kalifornia lawmaker a stroke!

...mind if I borrow it?:D

Very nice looking shotgun with the uzi stock. I like....
Whats going rate on one of those things if you find them?

That's cool. I'd have been real tempted to pay the fee to the feds and take it back to factory configuration.

wait!! what?? you should have a reason for purchase???
i've been doing it all wrong!!
cool lookin' i'd have picked that up too
enjoy

chud333- I gave $475 for it, then it was $12 for the stock and $100 for the gunsmithy work to fabricate the mount and do the installation. I looked around on line and the few I see for sale are in the $700-$900 range.

walnutred- I'm thinking about doing that, it would be all kinds of bad *** then!

Ha! If I had to have a use or a reason for every gun I bought I'd hardly have any at all.
