Those two triggers... Stupid Glock question.

The Iver Johnson revolvers of a certain age had exactly the same safety on their hammerless revolvers. QUOTE]

And when you copy a feature on an 80 yr. old owl head. At least the owl head wasn't made out of plastic. Larry

Not out of plastic, but of even more brittle hard rubber. The owl's head is on the grip.

I understand that the extra trigger piece on a Glock is a safety, but how does it work? Obviously, the trigger can't be pulled until the safety trigger is pulled first. I don't understand how this makes it any safer. It seems that most anything that accidentally pulls the trigger will pull the safety with it. I was looking at Glocks, but I don't like two triggers unless I feel they are justified.

Exactly what I always wondered. After reading all the explanations here, I still wonder WTH it does, that's useful?

Problem solved with the Glock trigger safety.

If you find that the trigger dongle gets in your way and is a waste of time... then you will appreciate how this wiz kid streamlined the whole "bang" process.

You better move quickly before this GB auction ends.

GLOCK 23/19 (1 GUN PACKAGE) RTF2 WOW! : Semi Auto Pistols at GunBroker.com

Don't forget to read the seller's description of this fine piece.

We aren't supposed to link to live gun auctions, but that is not a gun. That slice of feces was modified in an apparent attempt to make someone kill themselves. I wonder if the seller understands his potential for getting himself sued into oblivion. What an idiot.

Glock made their fortune by insuring that LEOs had Glocks. With that endorsement they just had to sit back and watch them sell.

The blast of free publicity when they were introduced certainly didn't hurt.

"OH NOEZ! PLASTIC GUNZ! CAN'T BE DETECTED! :runincircleswavingarms:"

EVERYBODY knew what a Glock was. You cannot BUY that kind of publicity.

Hate to say it but one of the two Glocks I've tried was a G19. I found the ergos suited me & I shot it VERY well.:(

Still a pretty long list of handguns I'd buy before one of those, tho.

I despised Glocks for many years until I was forced to carry one ( or seek employment elsewhere! ;) ) We switched from the Sig P220 .45 to the Glock 21. Ouch!! (I have since transferred to another division that uses the Glock 22.)

I decided that it was just a tool & as such I had to learn how to use it. It became readily apparent that unlearning everything I knew about trigger control etc. was the first order of business. As soon as I jumped that mental hurdle, the groups got smaller & smaller. They are accurate well above my skill level and as stated before virtually indestructable. I just read about a PD in Mississippi that recovered five of their Glocks after they were submerged under water and mud during Katrina. They cleaned them & they all functioned 100%. These stories go on and on. That is a level of reliability that I can trust my life on. At the risk of sounding like a Glock ad, I'll close by saying that Glocks are my carry pistols on and off duty now without reservation! I have a lot of pretty guns that are fun to shoot. But, when it is time to go to work, the 22 & 33 are with me.

Current list:

Glock 19,22,29,33,36,38
