Thoughts on this NYSP 28-2

Not a Smith and Wesson expert so what are your thoughts on this from July 1980? Serial # N565629.

I know the seller as I have dealt with him before. He was first asking $1350.

I am thinking $950.

I’m thinking if that was ordered with the RR/WO and it was a NYSP with proof. I wouldn’t doubt it sells for almost what he is asking. All this is based on condition. Just my thoughts.

The 28-2 NYSP is what was carried just before the 681 NYSP was issued.

The NYSP guns are desirable, and have a following of their own.

Pricing isn’t out of line, I hope you’re able to acquire it.

Everything looks correct to me other than the grips have been changed. It would have worn magnas while in service. As an NYSP retiree, I've been looking for one of these myself. If you decide to pass on it, can you send me a message on the forum?

Looks righteous to me...and $1350 may be a fair asking price. However, I would probably counter with an offer of $1100 and see what happens. Good luck...it would be a nice addition to your collection.

Well, just got her. He took my offer of $950. Will look for the magna stocks. Not much wear.

I've had several of those over the years and they are nice guns. All the one's I've seen had the RR & WI, and combat trigger.
