My meager collection only included post war S&Ws until today. When I saw these I figured now was as good a time as ever to pick up something a little older. I think I might need to find some more. These are absolutely beautiful guns. The nickel on the two 5"ers is at least 98+% and the 3" is easily 99%. Pretty good shape for being over 100+ years old.

Where'd you find 'em and what'd they cost? Tell us tell us tell us! Those three are amazing...and with the boxes too! Beautiful! The ivory grips are amazing!!!!!

Beauties, I guess now you can claim you are a pre-war collector. Strange thing about it, I was just looking at the SCSW to check a price on a .38 safety 5th model. Yours put the one I'm thinking about to shame.

Great pictures too. Thanks. Maybe If I buy the one I have been looking at you can let me "borrow" those ivories.

I found them at a garage sale this weekend. Only $50 each.

Just kidding. I got them from my favorite S&W dealer, Mr. David Carroll. The ivory one didn't have a box, but the other two did. Now I just need to find some ammo and put a few hundred rounds down range.

Good idea! I would do is as well before taking them on a three week canoe tour on the Yukon River and bear hunt

Probably you "forgot" to tell us the price for these beauties?

Beautiful. I love those old "lemon squeezers). Hard to believe they were frowned on not too long ago. I bought a handful of good ones when they were cheap and glad I did.
You did good, real good.

I brought up this old post because I received the factory letters from Roy Jinks today. The 5" 4th Model with the ivory grips was shipped to G.W. Cooper (no address)on May 18, 1908.

The pearl gripped one was delivered to Horace M. Allen (no address) on Novemeber 13, 1907.

The 3.25" 2nd Model was shipped to M.W. Robinson, New York City on August 8, 1887. Robinson was S&Ws largest distributor at the time.

Those guns are all from the late Bill Maier's collection, and they were bought from me years ago when Bill convinced me with a pile of green stuff that he needed them more than I did! David is selling Bill's collection for the Estate and those of you above that want a chance to own similar guns, get in touch with David. There's a few left. Ed.

I have one inbound from David i"ll post pics when it arrives, those are some nice examples that you have purchased thank you for sharing the pics.

Outstanding revolvers and David Carroll is a fine man to do business with.
