Thumb safety for the 9mm M2.0 compact

I just purchased 2 compacts for the son and I. These guns did not have the thumb safety like on my 1911 that I'm so used to. I did see pictures of some that came factory direct with them so I assume it's doable. Is anyone familiar with this and can it be added at some point down the road?

I think the parts can be had and retrofitted. The safety elimination kit includes a couple of plugs that cover the notches in the guns polymer lower. But in a gun that didn't come with a safety, I don't believe those notches are machined, so not just plugs you can remove, you would have to do it, or send it off to S&W or a local gunsmith.

You might find someone on the forum or ebay that eliminated theirs and pick the parts up for cheap.
