Thanks Ralph for the thoughts on shooting the Victory. Coincidently, before I read your post tonight, the Victory and I got a little exercise at the range this afternoon. Third trip together; she’s getting used to me and so it went well for both of us.

I don't know what sort of shooting you're doing, but point and shoot double action rapid fire becomes child's play with Jerry Miculek's spring kit. I can't compare it to any other simply because I don't know the first thing about any other. I do know your Victory Model will smile broadly if you treat it to one of those!

First Ive heard about the spring kit, thanks. Will do some research. BTW had the chance to meet Jerry at the S&W open house, nice guy and his demo for the crowd was very entertaining.

The best thing about his kit is the double action trigger pull is whatever you want it to be (with the proviso you don't go below 7 lbs---lest your gun won't go bang--------and he recommends Federal ammo/primers at that level). The only special tool required is a dial caliper (or a depth micrometer), that and a decent trigger pull gauge.

As an aside, there may very well be other kits with the same feature. That I don't know. The one thing I do know is you MUST follow his instructions for the installation. I, of course, had no need whatsoever for any such instructions, having been there and done that (replacing those springs) in the course of the welcome bath for something on the order of 200 S&W hand ejectors over the years. So I didn't---and when I finished the installation, NOTHING would move!! Everything worked just fine the second time around. It seems no matter how much you think you know, there's going to be someone who knows more. This time it was Jerry Miculek.

As another aside, his kits can be had from Brownells---$20 something.
