Welcome from Ohio!
I’m a retired mechanical engineer and recently escaped CA and found a new home in Tennessee. Woodworking, shooting and reloading are my main distractions. I bought an USGI M1 carbine awhile back, triggered by several relatives who carried them in the war. That lead to interest in other ww2 small arms: the carbine, then a Garand, then a 1911, then a 1903A3 and finally a S&W Victory. It’s my first revolver and I like shooting it but hate to do it too much because of its great condition. What satisfies the revolver itch? Was on the lookout for a good price on a newish S&W .38/.357 that I could put more rounds through without guilt. Just found a 1952 K38 in good condition. Certainly not newish but hopefully I wont feel guilty shooting it more often at the range.
Long story short, happy to join the forum.
Yes we love TN……left the Left Coast of CA as soon as we could after we retired.
Some have asked where in TN? Cumberland County up on the plateau, just outside Crossville. The close runner up for our retirement home would have been in Loudon County near .38Superman….Tellico Village. He’s pretty close to the new SW headquarters…..
Anyone near Fairfield Glade? Maybe members of the FFG Sportsman’s Club?
You picked a nice community on the plateau. You’ll see some snow in the winter but a bit milder in the summer. Hope you enjoy your retirement.
And you can't possibly do any harm to a Victory model---they came from the factory pre-harmed---and never get any worse----just older----and uglier-----just like all the rest of us! And don't worry about not being able to see the sights, they were an illusion to begin with.
