To all the LEO's

No, go ahead and do it, just don't take pictures, and if you do take pictures, best to leave the squad car out of them.

Was the picture AT Twin Peaks, or OF twin peaks?

Yes. And I have vague recollections of a police car and some kind of black gun-like object being in the picture as well.:D

So where's the picture of the girl???

And just speaking personally, thank God for the statute of limitations.

Oh, there it is. Slow dialup.

Sort of looks like the cover of Dillon's Blue Press. Maybe if it was a picture of Madeline Albright or Oprah nobody would have minded.

You have to wonder . . . . what in the world were they thinking?

Well, there's a tempest in a teapot!

Had they managed to get the girl away from public sight first, big deal! She wasn't too scantily dressed. I've seen girls out in public that way quite often. Even a bikini wouldn't have bothered me.

I think a letter of reprimand and a scolding should have sufficed. I'm more concerned about them handling weapons after drinking than I am about the picture.

Now, the female cop who posed for, "Playboy" and got fired for it some years ago was stretching the envelope past breaking. That detracted from her ability to be respected as a police officer, and seriously embarrassed her dept.

Frankly, if an official car was involved, and the officers were in uniform, I don't think they should have been drinking in public, let alone driving after.

T-Star
P.S. I just realized that there are TWO threads on this. The other has an enlarged photo of the chick.

I clicked on the photo also wanting to see more photo's. I don't think anyone should have been fired for this. Maybe they should have gone to Hooters instead. They definitely had 1 or more enemys in the dept. who got them in trouble. I do hope they weren't driving having had 5 or 6 beers now that's worth getting fired over.

As a LEO I am impressed with the sheriff's actions and support his decision. It'd be different is she was sitting on the tailgate of the deputies POV, but as it is he disrespected the department and the profession. I think the other officers involved, even if only standing around, got off very light indeed.

I am so glad the statute of limitations has run out. It was another department anyway and no guns or alcohol was involved. I wonder what I did with those photos.

If the same cops had pulled up while someone else was taking pictures of a pretty girl brandishing an assault weapon they would've charged everyone involved; Especially if the guilty parties were drunk!

I know that all LEO's don't have the attitude that they can do whatever they please, but many of them do. Stories like this irk me.

I don't think the picture is what got them in trouble, probably didn't help. Admitting to drinking while "on-duty" and driving the work car, might be the main reason. If you are going to screw around, never let anyone take pictures or admit to breaking the law, DWI/DUI. Not to smart!

Statue of limitations or no, if you actually "found" those photos, I highly doubt they'd get posted on the World Weird Web!

:p

She really dresses up what would otherwise be another boring picture of a police car and a rifle.
