After cleaning; should I lube the barrel of my 686? I'm pretty new to handguns so forgive this simple question.

One gunsmith friend of mine says the following:
"Bullets are not squeegees!"
Dry barrel if you're using it, wet barrel if you're storing it.
Is the barrel of a normal 686 susceptible to rust btw? ( under normal everyday use and normal conditions ofc.)

Hi I use Militec-1 Dry impregnated lube on all my guns.It bonds to the metal using a sparing coat on all metal surfaces. All my guns function flawlessly, are lubricated, but never wet.It also makes cleaning a breeze. If you ask for free sample they will send you one.Once you get to using it you will be hooked.....God Bless....Mike
