Stav,
I wonder if Wideners processes repeat customer business ahead of new ones? I know my first order took a while to process and ship, but the second order I placed shipped in two days and I had it in six.

Have fun. I reloaded my test batches using the new lot of powder last night. I skipped the low end loads and started at 25g and topped out at 27.5. So I'll have a total of eight test loads to log on Friday, and hopefully still have time to use up some more of the XM193. I ordered (and received) the WFT (World's Finest Trimmer) that was mentioned earlier in this thread, but haven't had any cases to trim. haha

But can't stay all day at the range as Friday is my anniversary so I have to be home and GSR-free in time to take my wife out to dinner. :)

More TOYS gotta love it

Stav,
If you get the F1 there's a DIY cable you can make to access data stored in the unit. I built one out of $7 worth of parts from a local electronics store which is about $20 less than buying the factory remote cable.

Weaponeer Forums: DIY Remote Button for F1 Chrony

With the cable you can step through a series of captured data including lowest vel, highest vel, avg vel, standard deviation, as well as velocity for the last 10 shots.

UPS never delivers to my house before 6 pm so it's always a long and painful wait for me. haha

Yeah I bought the F1 chrony and am going to build the cable, Bill and I were talking about it but I wasnt home and didnt have my Chrony but he did. It is the cheapest upgrade for the F1 Chrony and makes it do the math for ya. I want one of those boxes of 6k bullets but I will bet you that the CFO of the family wont let it happen. LOL

Did Wideners throw in a set of car keys with your powder? haha

Thats my OLD MAN reminder method.... cant leave if i dont have my keys....LOL

May actualy go PLAY tomorrow am.... be LONG day since we will race Until Midnight...... we shall see

At loads up to 26.5g the new lot (22) of 844 is shooting about 100fps faster than the previous lot (14).

But when you get to 27 and 27.5g loads they're about even.

Of the 27 and 27.5g loads of lot# 14 powder I got one outstanding 5-shot group which measured .675" max, with four shots making one ragged hole, .25" C-T-C. This was a 27g load averaging 3076 fps.

12+-+1

12+-+2

Unfortunately, the three other groups with this loads were .875", 1.125", and 1.375".
12+-+3

Of the new lot test loads, 27.5g got me my best 5-shot groups of 1" and .75".
12+-+1

So next step is to load up a larger sampling at 27 and 27.5g for each lot and see how consistent I can get the groups to be.

Bill way better pics than on my cell phone....Great Shooting looks like your development is coming along fine.

Good day in the Desert Today...was real Tired from re-building our track last 2 days....but had to go test my loads....

Chronograph was easy to set up... worked Flawlessly... and very easy to still read FPS at 10' away...

All my Loads are Hornady 55gr FMJBT
New 844 Powder
X-Terminator Powder

Also Factory PMC 55gr FMJ Rounds

All with Sport and Reflex site , rested at 25yds. Think I may be slightly high at 25yds... will dial it in better next trip out

1st Picture
Top 9 rds... 844 powder at 25.4gr
Pretty Consistent grouping, averaged at 2740fps

Center 9rds.... 844 powder at 27.2gr
Grouping was the best of the 844 powder, averaged at 3053fps

lower 9rds... 844 powder at 26.2gr
Similar to 1st grouping but more scattered, averaged at about 2854fps
6-25-12.jpg

2nd Picture
6rds... X-Terminator Powder 24.2gr
VERY good Group. Was aiming between 2 lines on Vertical line... Average was about 3144fps
6-25-12C.jpg

Last Picture
PMC Factory 55gr Rds
Averaged at about 2650fps

6-25-12B.jpg

Looks like my Sport likes the 3000-3100fps range.....

Think im with Bill.... Gunna do some 27gr and 27.5 gr and see how they do with More Numbers of Rounds...

I still have about 300rds of the X-terminator 24.2gr loads... so Now I know that is the sweet spot for those

Fun But tiring day....:)

I'll start tightening up group soon.... for now just having FUN

:D

Depends how much you shoot. I shoot 10,000 to 15,000 rounds per year. so I cast my own bullets and load with a progressive press. If I didn't load I wouldn't be able to afford to shoot.
