I am primarily a high power rifle competitor and have been shooting that sport for 30+ years. I have shot a few handgun events, IDPA, bullseye, etc. but, not to the extent of across the course, mid range and 1000 yard matches.
My experience with handguns, revolvers and semi automatics is that I generally shoot all of them well but, there are a few stand outs that for one reason or another shoot better than the rest. A Mod. 57, no dash with a 6 inch barrel is very accurate as is my 629-5 Classic DX. My Mod. 41 never disappoints and in the 1911 category, there is a "C" prefix Colt, that went through an AMU unit, at some point in its life, that shoots as good or better than the rest of the 1911s.
The photo is of a target shot with the Mod. 57 at 20 yards, offhand.
Then there are the K and L frames that always impress and never disappoint.
