Saw an article on-line earlier today. R. Lee Ermey passed away April 15, 2018 from complications of pneumonia, at age 74. Ermey served 11 years in the US Marine Corps, including a tour in Vietnam, and was medically discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Built quite a career for himself as an actor portraying hard-as-nails military characters, including his role in "Full Metal Jacket".

Staff Sergeant Ermey's cremated remains were laid to rest today at Arlington Cemetery with full military honors including rifle salute and flag presentation.

RIP.

I have to ask.
Why is his funeral not being held until 9 months after his death?
I've seen memorial services delayed as much as 30 days, but never for 9 months...

R. Lee Ermey Interred at Arlington National Cemetery

You may read about it by clicking here.

Since he can no longer be with us among the living, he is now where he deserves to be.

In a world populated with make believe heroes, toy soldiers, and stolen valor, he was the Real Deal.

Rest In Peace.
