Today I carried a Colt's 3" King Cobra in a TT Leather holster. A new combo for me.

My son and I were headed to our hunting club so a revolver got the call.

The TT was comfortable after I moved it back one jeans belt loop to about 3:15.

The only complaint about the TT holster is that it's about 1/2" longer than needed for the 3" King Cobra.

Despite having an adjoining state carry license, today was my first day with my Maryland license.

As we traveled to Tractor Supply and other vendors, nobody noticed or cared, same as Virginia, where I've been carrying regularly.

Nice revolver and holster. Big TT Gunleather fan here.

Also, nice to hear of people carrying in MD. Never thought it would happen Used to live in Montgomery County.

I live in Montgomery County. Leftists central.

Montgomery County is trying to subvert Bruen with extensive "sensative places." They are already facing lawsuits.

Today I carried a 444 Marlin and a 45acp Commander...............Cuz I was in the deer woods!

Still bow season here.

My son and I hung a ladder stand and checked others.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving is our modern gun season opener.

I have a hammer double rifle in 45-70 I want to bloody, a Rosi 92 in 357 and a 29-2 44 magnum as well. We only have two weeks of gun season.

Open carry or concealed?

Concealed, to the extent that I had a jacket on that covered the revolver.

MD makes no distinction between concealed and open.

My opinion is that unless you have some specific reason to open carry, like a guard in a uniform, you'd be stupid or looking for attention to open carry in suburban MD. And you'd be interacting with police all day as every Karen and Kent dialed 911.

This opinion applies to leftist Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Baltimore County and City, MD only. My opinion would be entirely different in areas not overwhelmed by leftists.

WOW. Here in lower SC we have a 4 1/2 months gun season. Yesterday that 444 with a 300 gr handload caused a nice little 4 pt to get a ride home in the Chevy.

Our state has open carry. Prior we concealed carry. I mostly carry concealed but during hunting season when I carry the big bores I usually just have a untucked over shirt over it........if it shows who cares....What little open carry I've done no one has paid any attention to it.

Congrats on your venison.

Open or concealed is legal with a Maryland handgun license. Where my hunting club is, Frederick County, MD, it's likely the reaction would be the same as in your neck of the woods, except maybe downtown Frederick City. In Montgomery County, where I live, every Karen would be dialing 911.

Open carry in VA has been legal as long as I can remember but it wasn't seen much until the past few years. We were in a Cracker Barrel recently when I saw a guy enter w/a holstered revolver. I expected the manager to ask him to leave but he, along w/his family, was seated. While it's still not too regular no one seems to take much notice of it anymore.

I'd expect a different reaction at a Starbucks!

Yesterday was Football on TV day! So I have been wanting to try out a different CCW set up. For the last 11 years I EDC a Model 49 no dash in my RF pocket using a DeSantis Nemesis. Yesterday I carried a 629-6, in a DeSantis 2 5/8" Thumb Break Scabbard, on a very heavy belt. When I went to P/U the pizza, I covered with an unbuttoned flannel shirt.

Weight wasn't an issue until about midnight! (14 hours), But a 44 Mag on you hip bangs into lots of walls compared to a J-Frame in your pocket! More acclimation needed before I go primetime!

Even the trimmest can get in the way.

I was assembling steel shelving in our new office space Thursday and lost count of the times I whacked the but of the P365X I was carrying AIWB.

And putting up the ladder stand with my son, I whacked the butt of the Colt's a couple of times.

I'd imagine a 629 would get more whacks no matter what you're doing.

Brings into perspective those 50, 80, 100 year old revolvers with the right grip beat up a bit compared to the left grip.

Thought I'd update this post for anyone interested.

When heading to the hunting club a revolver gets the call. The TT holster and Colt's new version of the King Cobra are still working well. The holster will no longer hold the revolver when turned upside down, but it's still a firm fit.

I'll ad that even at 28oz plus six Buffalo Bore +P SWCHPS and a heavy belt, whether kydex or steel reinforced, it requires hitching up once in a while.
