One of my favorite writers. I have read all the books he wrote and a couple he didn't. Seems to me he foreshadowed a couple big events. Not exactly, but kind of, close. Events similar to things that have happened. Two of his titles;

A Debt of Honor

Rainbow Six

I pray that The Sum of All Fears does not work it's way into history. Anybody else have ideas?

I just finished Jack Carr’s “Only the Dead” and it could’ve been written today with the players he uses and the Middle East the way things are rather than 2-3 years ago. I today started “Red Sky Mourning”, I’ll see how this one goes.

When Sum of All Fears was playing I took the Family to Denver to see
My brother in laws family. While the wife and him were doing stuff I took
my son to see the movie. There was an arson caused forest fire close
enough the where we were (Arvada) it clouded the sky and you could
taste the smoke.

The scene where the Russians were discussing targets in the US and
someone there asks, "how many people in Colorado Springs area?" And
the answer was "About 700000". At that point the hair on my neck stood up.

The next best line was when Morgan Freeman asked Liev Schreiber,
" How do you like your day job?" and Schreiber replied, "I like it, I like it a lot."

Having worked nights and Swing Shift about all my life, I can relate.

Was it the Sum of all Fears where the entire government was wiped out in a single blow? (except Jack of course)
Not an altogether bad idea to nuke the Super Bowl, though :p .

I was a huge Clancey fan when he was sending a book out every couple of years. The Hunt For Red October is still a favorite; and Red Storm Rising. I think my favorite of them all is Without Remorse. The movie version was terrible, though, hardly like the book at all. I'd love to see it remade and faithful to the story.

Lately I've watched the Prime series Jack Ryan, based on Clancey's character. It's very well made, and even includes James Greer, but not as a Navy Admiral, although by the end of the series he does become DCI. The last season also has Domingo Chavez, one of the SpecOps guys from A Clear and Present Danger and it's played by Michael Pena.

TC’s actual books were good. The franchise though has basically died…”Tom Clancy’s Demon Windfang written by James Mcgreer, where Jake Ryan jr has to evaluate nursing homes while being kidnapped by Lara Croft PRESIDENTIAL PARDON THE CAMPUS!!!

IMO, he peaked at Bear and the Dragon.

To be clear, Tom Clancy's books are awesome. The Hollywood renditions of his books not so much. Hunt for Red October movie being the only one even close to the book storylines. If you've only seen the movies and not read the books you are missing out.
Oh, reminds me of Sean Miller and Patriot Games
I loved the book
