We headed for the closest tavern, and I gave him a Bud Light.

He did not like it so I drank it.

Then I got him a Corona, but he did not like it either so I drank it.

It was the same with the Coors, the Miller's High Life, and the Pabst Blue Ribbon.

By the time we got down to the Jack Daniels, I could barely push the stroller back home!

My mother said my dad gave me sips from his Miller ponies . She said I got drunk and crawled under the sink and was holding on to the drain pipe and wouldn't come out till I sobered up. They were afraid to pull me out for fear of hurting me . Guess they didn't reckon the beer would do me any harm ! This was while my dad was stationed in Colorado Springs , I was 18 months old when we left there and came back to Nashville .

Knew a lady who would soak a wooden spoon handle in wine and let her toddlers suck on it while they were having teething issues, or if she needed them to take a nap, fall asleep at bedtime. This way she could finish the bottle in peace!
She always had a bottle, jug, or box of wine near her! When she went to work, she took a thermos with wine, and cut with coffee in the winter, or lemonade in the summer.
She was an alcoholic, earned two master degrees, found a really good job, could not handle the pressure, and died young!

My Grandma was as pragmatic as they came. All us grandkids, when teething, got our gums massaged with Rock n Rye.

Sometimes when sick as a child, I'd get a spoonful or so of Creme de Menthe. Always fell asleep right after and woke feeling much better.
