My grandson and his sister were riding the golf cart around their house yesterday afternoon. Ben was driving. When he attempted to avoid their dog,a lab who normally rides with them,he ran into the brick pumphouse. Result? Liza hit the dashboard face first and knocked out EIGHT teeth! None were permanent teeth, but the incident was traumatic for her ,as well as for her brother (not to mention her parents and grandparents).
Her parents took her to a dental trauma center in Columbia immediately and spent the next 9 hours getting checked out. She had a slight facial fracture and a buckled template on the left side, but after all was said and done,it appears that everything will be fine. She will be seeing a pediatric dental specialist on Monday.
No longer will I see this face. :(

She'll still be your little beauty queen. With a beautiful face like that you don't need no teeth. Be thankful she didn't have a bunch of stitches in her face. Teeth are so much easier to fix. Having said that I feel your pain as this was on your watch. Give her a hug from down here in Texas. I have three just as pretty as her. Those little girls steal old men's hearts.

Sorry to hear that. It's always heartbreaking when kids get hurt. :(

When my daughter broke her collar bone last fall, I found out that it's a lot tougher on us than it is on them.
I'm sure she'll bounce back in no time at all.

In the meantime, lots of ice cream and treats with grandpa are in order. ;) :D

I'm bettin' that face will be smiling back at you before you know it.

Kids are resilient and medical and dental science is astounding.

Meantime ask her for a hug and you'll be just fine.

Tom, that's terrible news! So sorry it happened. I know its trite, but if you think of how worse it could have been, its not so bad. The important thing to remember is that it was an accident, & they happen no matter how much care we take! Don't beat yourself up too much.

I cried when I read that. Kids are resilient and I am sure she will be fine as she grows. Still, I sent a prayer up there for her.

My Lord, that is awful! She is beautiful, and it's good to hear she will recover. You have our best wishes for her and all concerned. My wife and daughter tell me sometimes that they think if it wasn't for grandbabys and dogs, I wouldn't be fit to be around. They're joking. I think....

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure she will be smiling like that again pretty soon. I hope for a fast recovery and you keep your head up!

A prayer for her complete recovery and your peace of mind. As others have stated, kids bounce back in ways that amaze me.

Keep us updated.

Whoa Bobby, thats a tough hand yall were dealt on that one. Hope and pray for only the best for all.
