Alright, seriously thinking about doing this with a few members of my family this year. Has anyone out there done the course before? What should I expect? Thanks in advance, glad the money raised goes to a good cause. (wounded warriors)

I've completed the course at mt. Snow in Vermont. I'd recommend thin shorts and shirt like under armor, NO cotton, wear like mechanics gloves, bring a camel pack and maybe energy chews. Pack up on carbs... and be prepared for some falls, slips, getn wet, tired and getn electricuted :). Its roughly about 10 miles..... piece of cake though. Good luck! Any questions feel free to ask... also tape your shoes on.. here I am coming to a stop at the finish....

I've had a number of friends do them and plan to do one myself. From what I've heard it's as hard as you want to make it. Obviously you need to be in shape for the distance of the course, but I knew a guy who did it that definitely wasn't a marathon runner. One of the first obstacles is a freezing cold water hazard, so be ready to run soaking wet for the entire race. A down side that I heard is that because of the number of people that start at one time, you often have to wait at obstacles for those in front of you to go...

Yeah, have fun with that. Enjoy the $100+ "free" beer.;)
Lot of guys at work planning on the Phoenix one next month I believe. The team planning and associated conversations are as good as listening to women sitting around the hair salon. "No, join our team, we got the cool people" etc, etc.

A young pup at work did this last September...he said it was the best thing he ever did that he wouldn't be doing again...

[Just turned on my "old coot" switch:] In my day, we had kind drill sergeants who "helped"us through similar courses.

After the runs, rucks, miles and confidence courses, they called us "girls."

After PT week in jump school, the blackhats called us "girls."

By the time we finished ranger school, and the pure physical hell that experience entails, Sergeant Forbes allowed that we were now "ladies."

At my current age, I'm out of this type of game...and frankly, even if I were younger and capable of the tough mudder, I would just hand over some money....been there already, didn't much enjoy it.

Good luck, I'm sure it will be a great life's experience for you, and the cause is worthy!

:D Brian I feel like you look every day but I am 70. Don

Don, I'm not gonna BS, I was whooped. I didn't hurt or anything the following day, but I'm used to climbing and carrying heavy items and I played competitive basketball for 20 years. I would never do it again either... :D

Pretty sure after I watched a guy on youtube go through it with a fish in one hand and a hula hoop, I wont be having any problems with it. haha. Looks more fun than anything

Those people don't last long lol... youll see some folks leaving in ambulances. It can get pretty crazy depending on the terrain. I'm sure you'll do good. Good luck...
