Has anyone shot tracer ammunition through the 15-22?

Any reason not to?

Which Brand is working or not recommended?

Where can I find it?

thanks in advance for any info.

There are videos on you tube of tracers in 15-22's not sure what brand they were.. I know they aren't cheap, but they sure do have a wow factor :)

yeah it's so darn hot out, I was gonna go shoot right before dark and thought it might be fun!

I found these....

.22 Long Rifle Tracer Ammunition - Per 50 : Cabela's these are listed as High Velocity so I'm thinking they should work; but I don't even see a brand name on them.

AMM-008 - Ammo .22 Long Rifle Piney Mountain Tracer 40 Grain 50-Rd Box Lead Round Nose 1070 fps also found these.. good bit cheaper but that's it... I haven't found them anywhere else.... I've also been told to stay away from Cheaperthandirt...

Cheaper than dirt has deals and ship fast and have never let me down.

They are hated because they gouged on ammo prices during the "National RELOAD event" resulting from barrys election.

I've shot a modest amount of the Piney Mountain .22 tracer at Knob Creek.

Ammo was reliable in both function and trace ignition in a variety of semi-auto rifles and pistols but none were M&P 15-22s. Can't imagine them not working in the M&P as well.

Trace was somewhat short lived - out to about 100 yards +/- and surprisingly bright for such a small payload. Worked well both day & night.

Enjoyed shooting them. Was a lot of fun and helped to see your impact during a visually busy shoot like Knob Creek!

Plan to buy more for the next KC shoot.
