NE IL but I'm from Ohio
Thru the kindness of Roy Jinks I found a few years back that my K-22 was shipped on August 8, 1952, to a distributor in Columbus, OH and there were 22 units in the shipment.

There wasn't anything special about the shipment that warranted a letter but by a process of deduction, I am assuming that the distributor was the Tracy-Wells Co. Anyone else have pistols that were shipped to them? I gather they were about the largest distributors in the Columbus area at the time.

Since you have the letter that states the number of units in the shipment, that indicates a factory invoice from which that number came...The invoice will also have the name of the buyer...As you are also a member of the SWCA, I would suggest emailing Mike Helms a copy of the letter and ask him for a deep dive...A lot of your questions might be answered...I've received much extra documentation in that way...(y)...Ben

I do not have a letter as the only thing special about it that it shipped to Ohio (where I was born) shortly before I was born..
As a member of the SWCA I asked a ship date and got Aug 1952. In an e-mail conversation to Roy Jinks I asked when in August ( as that is my birth month / year) and received the additional information. I did not want to impose on Roy's time more and the Tracy-Wells is an educated guess.

My question was: does anyone else have S&W's that shipped there. I'm curious as to how important a distributor that were.
