I traded a Browning Citori over and under for this welder.

It was to a friend and he is going to give me some lessons. It seems like it was a really good welder when new. He has not used it in a long time.
Anybody know if this is a good one?
I will be replacing the cord and leads.

That's a good welder, not as user friendly as the latest models but will still weld, just takes more operator input. As far as the leads, check them by bending them and looking for cracking in the insulation, that's usually the first thing that fails with age.

It will do any work for the home owner and rancher if needed.

P5 splatter rod and 7018 will work for most jobs but there are a lot of rods out there for specialty jobs and metal make up, like aluminum or stainless.

Don't knock a "Buzz box"..........
they can put out some quality work.

Irorworkers local 118 for 33 years.......
and that was a fair swap but I still have my Citori.

You can make money with a welder. Can't have an income with a gun unless you rob Quickie Marts.

Hobart was bought out by Miller a while back. The biggest problem with an old machine is finding parts. Usually some company buys out the stock of spares from the factory when they decide the machine is obsolete and then get a very premium price for the parts.

Both Hobart and Miller are part of Illinois Tool Works now (ITW).

The Hobart Cyber TIG was a Cadillac among TIG machines in its day. Compared to today's machines, it's an antique. Hasn't been used in a long time? Hmmm....hope it works. It would be a hard sell today unless it was cheap.
