Trail Boss in .38 Damaging Alu J-Frames?

Thank you, Gents, for your input and concern. I only have four powders on hand - partially because of the fire hazard potential
Folks come up with zillion-plus reasons to not expand their horizons and buy more powders, better powders and more appropriate powders, but this is (IMO of course) an extremely silly one.

If you have a can of gasoline in the garage for a lawn mower, that's a FAR more dicey proposition than adding one pound of smokeless to the 4 lbs (or 4 to 28 pounds) you currently have. Also a very good chance that much of typical America keeps royally toxic and dangerous chemicals under their kitchen sink, far more "dangerous" than keeping a little smokeless powder at home.

This stuff isn't straight nitroglycerin, it isn't a catastrophe waiting to happen and a stack of newspapers in the corner is more like to ignite than a pound of smokeless in it's original container.

Since they (Hodgdon) publish data for TB in jacketed rifle loads – I sent them an email today asking if they have jacketed load data for .38 Spec. Worst they can do is tell me to take a hike. By a long shot, TB is the lowest density pistol powder that I can find. Only thing even halfway close is Red Dot. Anxious to hear about TB load in a snub ... kind of a big snub too boot!

Two powders come to mind when flamecutting is mentioned.

Tightgroup and Lil'gun have both had reports about this. Maybe that was one of the powders and not Trailboss? I don't even know if there is an application for Lil' gun in 38 special though.
