I found a rifle I want in Columbia SC, I'm in Southern Pines NC. Owner has offered to met me half way in Florence if I can find a FFL that will do the transfer for us. Anyone know of a dealer that does transfers reasonable in Florence or on a straight shot towards Colombia?
I know someone will ask, it is a Savage model 10 FCM in 7.62x39!

Thanks guys

Try Northside Feed and Tack, 1219 North Fifth St, in Hartsville, SC, 843-332-8053. It is right on US 15, which you would probably use if heading south from Southern Pines. Transfers are $25. Nice people and easy to deal with.

Am I understanding this? You live in North Carolina, correct?

So why do you need to meet the seller in South Carolina to arrange with a SC FFL to do a transfer? If you live in North Carolina, you can't buy a gun in South Carolina and have a South Carolina FFL transfer it directly to you. Unless you have an FFL, yourself...which you haven't mentioned. You can't even walk into an LGS in South Carolina, buy a gun, and walk out with it if you live in North Carolina. You just can't.

Why not just have the seller go to his SC FFL and have the gun shipped to a North Carolina FFL in Southern Pines or a town close to you? Then the NC guy does the transfer paperwork.
