Last month was my 65th birthday (yea, I made it to Medicare).
My Son bought me a bottle of Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Barrel Strength which is 116.8 proof - BUT super smooooooth! I was quite surprised that it was so rich, flavorful and creamy without the super heat. I must say it is much better than I had imagined based on the regular Wild Turkey 101. This IMHO is way better than the 101!
While it is a mid range priced Bourbon, it is quite reasonable compared to many other Bourbons not even close to being this good. I believe it runs around $55 bucks or so which for a Bourbon of this quality, age and proof is very reasonable to say the least! This is something I did not think about buying but I am very happy my Son did! I WILL be buying another bottle when this one is done and I do highly recommend drinking it neat and sipping it when you have time to relax. A true Bourbon lover will really appreciate this one.
