trigger break in

I've seen some vides where the trigger weight is pulled and it seems most come in closer to 7lbs than 8. One reviewer said his trigger had smoothed out nicely after 2,500 rounds. And a commenter noted a drop in trigger weight after only 75 rounds.

For those who have put many rounds through a SD9VE, did the trigger weight lighten with 75, 500, 1,000+ or more rounds and did it smooth out over time?

Anyone have a trigger that now pulls at under 7 lbs?

My SD9VE started at 8.2 lbs.
After about 500 rds, I have noticed the trigger is smoother and approximately 7.3 lbs.

Seems to be holding there.

I don't shoot mine that often anymore, as I have several range guns, but
after 1500+ rounds it seams to be a little bit lighter trigger.

Trigger will definitely get smoother as you shoot it.
It will also loosen up some and feel a little lighter.

If you put an Apex spring kit in(you don't need the after market trigger assembly)...........after a few hundred rounds you will have an almost ideal carry trigger.

I helped mine along by polishing, stoning & putting a lighter sear & trigger spring in the gun. Pull's just over 3.5 lbs. & I shoot a HECK OF ALOT BETTER.

I have over 3000 rounds on mine. Definitely not the same trigger feel I started with. Keep the gun stock. This is one of the few guns that doesn't lead itself for a lot of modification.

Mine started out at 8# exactly, as measured by a Lyman trigger gauge. After apx. 7,500 rounds through the gun, it has both smoothed out considerably AND dropped in weight to around 7#, again measured by the Lyman !! It IS much easier to get a smooth pull, however it STILL has the "articulated trigger", which I don't personally care much for. I'm leaving it stock (for now) but may replace the trigger shoe w/ the Apex later, IF it doesn't lower the pull below 7# (the factory recommended low end for SD trigger pull), which is fine with me !! I still have some minor issues with this pistol but I feel the positives outweigh the negatives!! BTW, you will rid yourself of lots of frustration by doing a quick, even pull on the trigger, rather than SLOWLY trying to get a target like pull. It WILL NOT happen with the stock trigger !!

I put moly paste on every sear. Then while watching tv run the trigger to break it in.
