My carry pistol a S&W 40 Compact I never felt the need to have a lighter trigger .. Its stock and is 6.8 pounds in a five pull average when its been tested .. my Beretta PX4 Sub Compact in 9mm is DA/SA and is probably around 7.5/5.0 haven't had it checked .. they will stay stock along with my Sig P238 which pulls at 7.2 pounds !!
It all comes down to what you are use to and what you want to use your pistol for ..I have a Tanfoglio TZ-75 Model 88 .. its set up for the rang and has 2.5 pound trigger .. but if you were to sneeze with your finger on the trigger you might shoot off 2 or 3 shots .. Strictly a range gun and not one I would ever carry .. It was set up for competition shooting by someone else ..
I'm use to the feel of the trigger pulls in the pistols I carry and really see no reason to take them down to between 4 and 5 pounds and take a chance of it being an item of contention if I should ever have a self defense shooting ..
