Triggers & Springs for the SD

I’ve heard tell of the Galloway SS 20 pound Guide Rod and Spring assembly being suspected of causing frame failure. I got the 18 pound one from them and was cautious about checking the extent of travel (to make sure slide travel length was the same as with the OG spring/rod that came in it). I haven’t had any problems with it at all. I also have the GP four spring set and they are working well also. I got the Apex trigger before other options were available. I did have to file adjust the back ever so slightly to ensure consistency in break. My SD9VE has been trouble free and a joy to shoot. Even some of my friends with tricked out Glocks love the way it shoots. All of that to say you do you and enjoy shooting. I wish everyone the best regardless of what they decided to do.

Yeah, I have seen that issue before
I thought we were talking about a trigger issue

Still haven't installed the trigger YET!
It would be much easier to install one with a 2nd trigger pin & to install it from the LH side of the frame, I HAD a Glock pin but can't seem to find all my parts.
My SD the unlocking block has to be pressed into the frame & pops up slightly causing problems while installing the trigger assembly & lining everything up & getting it past the notch, then hopefully I won't have to file the back of the trigger for more overtravel to get the striker to release + take it all apart again, Much easier on a Glock
I already have the trigger mounted to the trigger bar & stopped messing with it earlier, I have a padded vise & used a 1/16" punch to seat the pin
It's 8:30-9:00pm now & will get some time in a while after doing a few chores
I broke out the roll pin punches for the slide & frame pin = All Is Good!

Well, I installed the trigger & parts
I guess I was one of the unlucky 30% who had to remove .010" off the back of the trigger
I have it apart again now & put a piece of heat shrink tubing around it on a wooden block I made to make it easy to push the pin out with = 3rd hand
I filed about .010" off with a couple grades of files & smoothed it up with an emery board & a drop of armour all on a q-tip
The trigger felt mushy as I had to pull hard to get it to drop

It should be OK now, We'll See About That Later...
Have an errand to run & will be back later around 11:30pm in an hour or so

Trigger pull is light about 5lbs, Smooth & Crisp
Pre Travel & Over Travel are much reduced
Feels like a slick Glock

Here's a few photos

The Stick On Grips I had applied came loose while handling it last night, so I just peeled them off & removed the residue with some alcohol

IMHO, APEX should give people a refund for having to file the trigger.
With a Galloway Boudica trigger there is NEVER any filing. And it's almost half the price of the APEX trigger.
My M&P's have APEX triggers.
C'est La Vie!

I noticed Apex said in their video 30% had to file the trigger due to frame tolerances but would bet the tolerance is in the trigger not the frame
So far everyone I have seen had to do this, so why not just make it smaller OR redesign it, it was a Pain in The Behind to have to remove the trigger again to do that final step BUT overtravel is minimal that way SO it should have an allen set screw there IMO
I ended up putting a piece of rubber tubing around the trigger depressing the safety & gave it several strokes evenly across the stop area with a file & cleaned it up with an emery board & a pocketknife

The trigger is now as good as any Glock with the factory 5lb connector
It was almost like a DAO revolver before & is like a striker fired pistol now
I would imagine before the lawsuit over the trigger that the Sigma had a very similar trigger that Apex copied
