Low Price

Be careful. There are low quality Chinese copies out there that have no warranty with Trijicon and don't hold up. Check carefully. Check the seller's return policy. Get a guarantee from the seller.

JP = plastic, lens and body. Weighs 0.5 ounce. Auto adjust. $300. Don't drop it.

RMR = Ruggedized Miniature Red dot sight. Aluminum housing w/glass lens. Manual brightness adjustment. Weighs 1.7 ounces. $600.

For a range toy, the JP is a good value intro optic for pistols. For serious defensive work, the RMR is worth the extra money.

The question:
Good morning,
You have the TRIJICON RMR ADJ 6.5MOA LED RED DOT WAREHOUSE ITEM $475.46 listed for $475.46 plus shipping. I do have access to a dealer account and know for a fact that your price is actually a few dollars cheaper than a major distributor on this same item. I have been told that there are Chinese copies of this item and to beware of super low prices. Without being insulting I would like to ask if this is indeed a current Trijicon product with full US factory warranty. Also, what is your return policy? Thanks James

The response:
I don't take it as an insult, many of our prices are so low that they don't seem correct or real. In this case, it's simply that distributor prices for Trijicon products are extremely varied from one to the next. The most expensive distributor I have that shows it in stock charges us $483.53 for it, but then we've got 3 other distributors that charge much less than that. The lower prices we get are due in large part to the volume we sell and so they give us larger discounts that our other distributors don't. But to directly answer your question, yet this is a genuine Trijicon product with the full US factory warranty. Our sales policy is that all sales are final, however if you receive merchandise that is defective, we will replace it. If it becomes defective after receipt, it must be handled via the manufacturer's warranty.

One of my commercial web service clients has dealer accounts with some major distributors so I have access to lots of stuff at dealer's cost if I want to utilize that resource. That's not always (as in this case) the best price however.

At this point I'm still researching options and haven't fully decided to even keep the gun.
It's being picked up by FedEx this afternoon to be returned to its birthplace for a sub-standard (over eight pounds) trigger correction.
I could have easily correcteed the problem myself but,
1.) I shouldn't have to on a new gun and
2.) In the astronomically small likelihood that the pistol would ever be used by me in a defensive situation having a non-user modified gun completely removes that concern from the equation.

At this point I haven't even fired it, it's still NB / un-fired (since leaving the factory).

If I do keep it and go with a MRDS it will most likely be a RM07. Trijicon says it has all the functionality of the RM01 / RM02 plus the additional functionality of manually adjusting the brightness if there's a need to do so. For my intended purpose (if I do keep the pistol) the 6.5 MOA dot would be most suited.

Thanks for the input.
James
