triple lock question

rubiranch, the TL shown has a very interesting lineage if you would like to read some more about it I'll ad the post. I've always been interest in the history of S&W but more so the history of the places their firearms went and that of the US. When I received my letter from Roy it just added to the search for information. As ugly as that TL was when I received it turned out to be much more. Good luck on your search for a TL and just be prudent in that search.

Thanks for the link. Interesting read. Having a history is awesome.

My friend ended up with the triple lock for around $900.

Thanks for your comments. I sent them to the seller.

Both parties are happy. :D

Have you shot this TL? I have a 5" TL that has been Parkerized. It is very accurate, much more than me. :)

Nope. Never shot it but probably will when my friend comes down to visit and do some shooting.

Every gun I own is way more accurate than I am. LOL

I just like pulling the trigger.:rolleyes::D

Every time there is another post on a Triple Lock, I get the incentive to work on mine a little more. Just working on the bad areas with a mild metal cleaner and another coat of Ren Wax. So here are today's pictures after last evening's additional application of elbow grease.

You can see the start point in my above post. I believe a former owner, probably many years ago, left it stored in a holster for an extended period causing the corrosive attack against the nickel finish. The gun appears to of seen little shooting time. The stocks have the hand written matching serial number on the inside of the right stock.

That's impressive. I would have never guessed that it would have cleaned up to look that nice.
