Anyone know if there is a Tritium / Fiber Optic front sight out there for revolvers? I really do like the day / night visibility of these things and would love to set up my revolvers with them.

It depends on the model revolver you are talking about. There is always Tooltech Gunsight Tooltech Gunsight who do custom trijicon (the best brand) night sights for almost anything. They have done some nice work on my semi-auto's. I would send them my revolvers but shipping firearms is just a big pain for me. I can just send my slide in for semi autos. I highly recommend them.

Bogey,

Which revolver are you talking about?? Just this evening I put a red fiber SDM front on my 610 which took about 5 min. and that's just because it was a tight fit. My 610 has a interchangable front sight from the factory. It is a great sight and visible (not really well but better than the black stock ramped sight) in light about as low as you could still see a target in. With a cheap LED flash light it showed up well. I have a XS big dot tritrium on my 4" L frame this gun had a pinned front sight and cost me $25.00 to have a gunsmith install it. Removing the front sight pin is fairly easy but after inserting the new front sight it needs to be drilled and I could PROBABLY do it well BUT if I didn't $25.00 would be a bargan compared to screwing up the barrel!! I got the XS sight because I want to use the gun for IDPA and wanted a sight that was fast to aquire - the tritrium was a bonus. Those guns are easy to deal with but other guns are more complicated but still "do" able a good example is the heavy barrel model 10 or model 13 for which there are options but require more extensive gunsmithing.

Bogey,
I'll confess this subject is sort of a mini-jihad for me. For a couple of years now I've been whining about Tru-Glo (the only makers of a Fiber Optic/Tritium combination front sights), not making them for other than Glock's? I even E mailed them about them for an M&P 9c I got last year (08'), they said "we should have some in 09'". Well, they never materialized for the auto's. So I hold out precious little hope for them starting to be made for the wheel guns?
I agree, they ARE THE ANSWER for a 24/7 carry gun. That's why I wish they'd relent and start making some.
(EDIT) Well, apparently they do make them for other applications now.
Unfortunately, none of them are S&W alas? As is stated, "patented design". So till they do it, we ain't gonna' see it...

Sights would be for a 686, 640, and 617. Want to have everything on the same setup. Second choice would be an XS std. dot.
