Bogey,
Which revolver are you talking about?? Just this evening I put a red fiber SDM front on my 610 which took about 5 min. and that's just because it was a tight fit. My 610 has a interchangable front sight from the factory. It is a great sight and visible (not really well but better than the black stock ramped sight) in light about as low as you could still see a target in. With a cheap LED flash light it showed up well. I have a XS big dot tritrium on my 4" L frame this gun had a pinned front sight and cost me $25.00 to have a gunsmith install it. Removing the front sight pin is fairly easy but after inserting the new front sight it needs to be drilled and I could PROBABLY do it well BUT if I didn't $25.00 would be a bargan compared to screwing up the barrel!! I got the XS sight because I want to use the gun for IDPA and wanted a sight that was fast to aquire - the tritrium was a bonus. Those guns are easy to deal with but other guns are more complicated but still "do" able a good example is the heavy barrel model 10 or model 13 for which there are options but require more extensive gunsmithing.
