Thoughts on fiber optic front sights on revolvers?

Is there an easy way to change the front sight or front sight blade on older S&W models? I am thinking of purchasing a Model 63 Kit revolver in .22 and the front sight appears to be one integral unit-looking at a 1980's vintage revolver.

Likewise, is there a certain year that S&W went to a pinned in front sight blade for .22 caliber revolvers?

I am interested in trying a fiber optic front sight as well as an all black version.

Thank you.

I have a Charter Arms Professional which has them. I would prefer the precision of a blade on it. I turn 70 next year as an eye comparison to your age.

My thoughts are moving towards disliking them more than liking them.

I shot a 22 Semi-Auto that has a green fiber optic front sight yesterday on a outdoor range in bright sunlight. While the front sight is easily to see indoors in the bright sunlight it was so bright it made it hard to get a consistent sight alignment with the rear sight. I also kept shooting consistently high with it.

Fiber optics make it hard for me to shoot tight groups. It is "combat accurate" which seems to be the excuse for guns not shooting tight groups.

I plan on shooting the 22 more to determine my final opinion but I will not add a f.o. to any of my revolvers.
