In all cases, speedloaders are more difficult to use than magazines and require lots more practice to make sure you can use them reliably under pressure.
There's no better, more accessible way to test yourself than to attend an IDPA or USPSA match and shoot it with your carry rig.
It's a shock to most folks how much harder it is, with just that level of stress. A buzzer isn't gunfire, but it's much better as a stressor than just goofing around at the range.
