I picked up this brake to test for an upcoming SBR (short barrel rifle) build and wanted to test if what I heard about the brake was true. Well, it is. Pros––-greatly reduces the perceived noise level for the shooter and it reduces the blast to those on your side. Cons––-slightly more perceived recoil. There was very little and statistically insignificant difference in bullet performance but the data is posted below.

Chrono Data:

62gr HP Silver Bear 223

Birdcage-2741fps. 1034 ft/lbs of energy
Claymore––2733fps. 1028 ft/lbs of energy

I ran this on my PSX as well and the results were pretty much the same FWIW....

So did you notice if this kept you on target after your shot? I need to decide on a muzzle brake to keep me on target as I'm getting a lot of kick to the right and want to correct that.

BillyJack2012--are you right handed? For what its worth a lot of the time a sideways recoil can be attributed to how you hold the rifle and your trigger squeeze. Rifles generate a straight kickback and if your having problems coming back to the right it might not be the flash hider it could be the way you are shooting. Please take no offense at this I am just trying to give you food for thought.

That can't be it because I'm a perfect shooter. :D

Actually, I started to think about this and will be adjusting my stance and hold before I do anything. (and no offense taken!)
