I recently purchased an m&p40 2-tone cabelas exclusive. I did not like the reset on the trigger so I purchased an Apex RAM. unfortunately the RAM will not work with my sear block. I called Apex tech support and she told me that the newer sear blocks that s&w was using will not accept the RAM and that to her knowledge they were no longer available for purchase. I found this one at midway Smith & Wesson Sear Housing Blockouttegral Lock Mag Safety S&W M&P M&P and showed it to her, but she said she could not tell from the pic wether or not it will work. To me it looks like it will. Does anyone know if it will work or where to find one that will? I don't have very many tools nor do want to drop a ton of cash on other parts, I'm just trying to find a sear block that will accept the RAM.

i called s&w and they were absolutely no help. they told me that you cannot purchase sear housing blocks direct or from any other source. i explained to him that i have seen them on midway and brownells and wanted to know if they would work, he said he couldnt tell me and that they must be manufactured by another company... i call BS

I found the correct style SHB from Speed Shooter Specialties, this is the ONLY place that sells them. Unfortunately, that SHB will not work on the new style frame with thumb safety plugs. I spoke to the owner of Apex and he confirmed that this set up will not work. He said they are developing a new RAM for this SHB, but does not have a release date at this time. I am considering the Burwell trigger job, otherwise I will just wait for the new RAM. Has anyone done the Burwell trigger job? If so, did it improve the reset?

Rather than the RAM, you may wish to try the new style slide lock. It improved the reset on my older M&P9 quite nicely. Do a search here and see if it is what you seek!
