Is there a song about that? I must admit it doesn't quite have the same ring to it as, "When the Swallows Come Back to Capistrano".

When the Buzzards Return to Hinkley Ridge.

Hooliganism and Big Chuck were the hosts of a Friday Night Movie and skit show. Hooliganism left for greener pastures so a skit player, “Little” John Rinaldi, a local jeweler was voluntold to fill in. They commanded the Friday night spot for decades.

My Dad was working for the Feds in the early ‘60’s to the early ‘70’s stationed out of Akron. (We lived in Wadsworth.)

I really only remember a few things from back then just due to my age. We always went to Hinckley for the return but I never knew why.

Being so small I was amazed with their apparent size. My much older brother always held me up to them hoping the worst.

Down here we have Turkey Vultures and they can be a nuisance at times . We had a large group of them start roosting in one of our Substations and they were causing all sorts of problems. Getting rid of them was expensive and complicated . And the solution is only temporary .

The story down here always was the buzzards roosting atop the old Dade Co. courthouse were from Hinckley until some buzzkill party pooper went and tagged a few. Turns out they returned scattered about from W. Va. to Ohio but not to Hinckley.
Doesn't matter much to where they're from their disappearance signaled the ending of tourist season and relief of the silly snowbird habits. Nowadays the difference is hardly noticeable due to the population but it brings a bit of nostalgia for the low key, uncrowded days of summer.

Here in upstate SC we have a lot of deer killed all during the year - road kills. Buzzards are common, usually 3 to as many as 10-12 at a time, but don't see the larger Turkey buzzard type any more. Any idea why this has happened?

Wow Kevin, some more hair fell out watching the video. Can’t imagine how you found that. As a kid growing in the Cleveland burbs I remember watching the show. They would blow up things with firecrackers or was that Goulardi? Which show used the word Knif?

I remember going to the Hinkley Buzzard Festival as a kid, it’s still going strong today.

We went to Hinkley Lake last summer with the grandkids and the picnic area was like being in a different country, all foreigners. Like a reunion for not legal aliens, Larry
