What is the average turnaround time when sending a barrel to S&W for repair or replace?

I just got my BG back from Smith and Wesson. I sent it in for repair and it took about a month to get it back. I called after about a week to check on it. Apparently they close down the shop area for 2 weeks in August in order to do maintenance on the machines. That's why it took so long.

Good luck,
Fox

What did you have done? I'm just curious ... I have a revolver I'd like to get the barrel changed on. But 7 weeks seems like an eternity.

There is a defect in the rifling.

Received email that they received Shield 9 M&P on 8/17/17 for warranty repair. Notified today 9/6/17 that it has been repaired and shipped. Very good turnaround time in my opinion.

Must be easier to do than fixing the hand on my revolver - 10-12 weeks just to get a quote from the Performance Center..........hoping to get it back before Christmas at this rate.

Turn around time actually depends upon their workload at the time.
