Welcome to the Forum.
Ellett Bros was to sell 500 sets of these 12 Revolvers in 1990.
I've heard but can't confirm that there wasn't enough interest and maybe only 300 sets were produced/sold{?}

Most collectors won't pay a premium for broken sets and used guns from the set. I've seen complete sets sit unsold and individual revolvers at the gun shows.
Your 27 is unique in that it has a 7" barrel.

Without knowing more about the condition of you gun, and w/o pics it would be hard to value

What I was told was that Ellett Bro's went with Ruger instead of S&W back in the days when Ruger wouldn't allow a distributor to handle Ruger if they also had S&W.
This supposedly happened during the production run or contract run of these revolvers and that coupled with lagging sales was the end of the sets being made.
There were to be 500 sets of guns and there seem to be more of some of the individual guns out there than others.
I have several of them, all with different numbers.
When the individual guns sell they appear to bring about what any other similar gun would bring and I haven't seen that they command any premium. Two of the ones I have showed absolutely no signs that they had ever been test fired or even lubricated.
You have a nice and unusual revolver.
Congrats.

I'm shocked. Wessels is just about 1/2 block from work and when I was in there last week they were pretty well cleaned out of handguns. They also don't normally deal in high end firearms like that set of 12. That set is definately too rich for my pocket, and also the area they are located in. Frankly, I don't see that set selling unless it's posted on Gunbroker. However, that is a very fair price, it works out to 500 bucks a gun and I suspect they may all be unfired. I'll have to stop in and see if the seller is willing to break up the set. If so, I can see a model 27 and perhaps a model 66 in my future.

There is a set of 12 in SW Michigan also but I doubt she will break up the set.
email me for contact info if interested

I have seen three of these "Outnumbered" S&W 27s and all had 6.5-inch barrels and correct boxes that read "Outnumbered" with barrel posted as "6.5"Inch. I have seen the literature, but I have to wonder, are there any 7-inch barrels out there?

I own one of the 27's and it definitely measures at only 6.5 inches.

Everyone buys in at equal shares, or 1/12 of the total overall cost. Each share gets a ticket stub that goes in a hat. First draw gets first pick, next draw gets next pick, etc. I'm in, can I get an Amen from 11 more?

my son has the model 29 "hostiles" from this set..this past monday he shot a fairly scarce red boar with it....very nice gun
