How to rifle twist rate.I am 72 year old and have forgotten.

Do you want to figure out what twist rate you have on a rifle barrel?

243 rifle.

I have a A Sako Forrester 243 that I have had many years and have forgotten. I think it's A 1in9 or 1in10

Use a cleaning rod with a close fitting patch (so that the cleaning rod will turn with the rifling as you pull it through the bore).

Push the rod and patch down through the bore until it almost reaches the chamber.

Make a mark on the cleaning rod at the muzzle.

Slowly pull the rod out until your mark makes one full rotation.

Measure the distance from your mark to the muzzle.

That is your twist rate.
