Just got my new 686-6 Deluxe and now have it and a 686 3" with 500 rounds through it which convinced me to buy the 6". Have always been pretty much a Semi-auto guy but after buying several Uberti and Pietta revolvers, I decided to try Smith & Wesson. Really like the feel and accuracy of my 3" and am assuming the 6" will be even better. Wheel guns are really more fun to shoot.

I've been bit by that same bug. Got a 4" 686 no dash. Then wanted a 6". So, got a 586 no dash. Love them both. The SS is awesome, but the blue steel of the 586 is striking, in my opinion. I seem to see fewer blued guns, much less revolvers at the range these days.

I just modified the rear sight on both just last night. Tested them out this morning. My groups tightened up nicely. They're both great handguns, and fine examples of Smith & Wesson craftsmanship.

Love both my 686's but had an issue with the 6" on the first range trip. During the first 100 rounds I had a lot of trigger reset problems but it straightened out after that and no problem since. Just needed a little break-in i guess. Great shooting revolver

The 686 is among THE greatest all-purpose revolvers. My experience with 686's began in 1985. I still I carry a 4" from morning til bed-time daily. It meets all my needs and is superbly accurate.
