TX22 vs 617

I have heard nothing but good stuff about the TX22. It seems like you are pretty confident in it to compare it to a 617! Congrats should be quite the pair.

The TX22 holds its own standing in a tall crowd....

10 shot group, then a 20 and finally a 30 shot group.

Groupings don't reflect well on the indians shooting capability

Certainly appears to shoot as well as the others! Looks like a fun pistol, plus it holds 16 rounds in a factory mag! What is there not to like?!

Anyone that has yearned for a glock 22lr..... should buy this pistol.....I've purposely ran up a high round count intent on breaking the TX22.....still runs like a top(I mean Glock)

I have 4 22s: A Ruger MII competition; 4" 617-6; a Ruger SR22; and the new Taurus TX22. The MII is the most accurate (by far!!!). I shoot the 617 the most because I use revolvers for self-defense. The SR22 and the TX22 are just plain fun. I really like how the safety on the TX22 is placed like a safety on a 1911. It feels like the real deal. The 16 shot capacity is amazing.

A question to the TX22 owners here. Is it d&t’d for an optic mount. I have 2 of my Mk’s set up with red dots and really think that at my stage of life that’s the way to go.

Nope.... not drilled & tapped.

The rear sight has 1 elevation screw in the center and sits in a .800 wide shallow dovetail.

Maybe you could use one of these to mount your red dot.

I think the reciprocating slide would preclude the use of a slide mounted optic, you would need to do a bridge mount.

Your right. Probably wouldn’t hold zero and beat a dot to death.

A good dot would hold up just fine. Problem on a 22 is the slide has to be pretty light. Most dots, even micro pistol dots would likely add to much mass, and cause failures to feed.
