Tyler T Grip company shutdown - shipping again

I think it would be much more interesting to hang out at the Post Office where PO Box 94845, OKC, OK 73143 is located at and see who visits that P.O. Box! The USPS Mail Fraud Investigation group must be a bunch of useless government payrollers. You'd think this was Chicago!

Well, out of 6000 backorders, he now has it trimmed to 2700, and is shipping more out today and tomorrow, making batches of 200 at a time, mostly #1's in polished and black but has to switch off periodically to make them for K-frames and others as well...

Almost a month ago mtngunr claimed 3,300 T-Grips shipped out with more going out daily. And not one person can say they have received theirs? It'd take 3-5 days for it to arrive via regular mail.

mtngunr has been living the high life over in the Sigma forum as lately as this morning, maybe someone can ask him to give us an update.

I checked with a couple of friends orders (April 2010 and October 2010) that have been waiting for Tyler and they have not heard anything back.

I order 4 grips in Feb. They cashed my check and that's the last I've heard of them. No answer on their phone now. I filled USPS fraud report and complaint with the OK BBB. Here's what BBB sent me:
"We acknowledge the receipt of your complaint. However, Tyler Manufacturing has notified the Better Business Bureau Serving Central Oklahoma that it would not respond to complaints from its customers presented to the BBB. The Bureau will maintain your complaint on record against the business."

So how can a company keep all that money and not get charged?

Either the USPS or the OK AG will charge them if what we're hearing is true.

I'm not hearing a darn thing that makes me think that anyone in the government cares. I hope that changes, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I would think if enough people file a complaint with the USPS PI, there might be some action. But honestly, if I would not expect any satisfaction for the consumer on this one (except maybe the satisfaction of knowing a few people at Tyler end up with legal troubles).

p.s. Was in your neck of the woods (sort of) last week... Went through Red River on the way back to Texas after a week long camping trip in the San Luis Valley of CO.

I agree with you that the government does not care. My father-in-law is a retired Postmaster and he tried to explain that in large cities postal inspectors concentrate on large high profile cases. A couple of hundred small transactions is not worth the effort.

He did suggest that letters to the state and federal representive from OKC might help grease the wheels with postal inspectors.

I did not read all the posts, but I have been waiting since last Nov-Dec. Know all about the problems and what not, but far as I'm concerned they've been taking money and ignoring customers. Certified letters and all notwithstanding. Hard to take, but there it is. If they've shown a pattern of fraud, then I hope they are held accountable. Lot's of folks out a lot of money as far as I can see.

OK gang, here's an update on trying to find Tyler Manufacturing. Based on a lead from chopaka (and thanks) I used the Oklahoma County Tax Assessors website to locate a "Tyler Manufacturing" located at 1900 Shirley Drive, in Choctaw, a suburb of OKC. I had some time today and drove out there only to find an approximate address (there were few houses with street number signs). The area has some older and some apparently fairly new homes on acreages. The home located at 1902 Shirley Drive appears to be run down, with weeds and trash scattered about the property. There's a long drive down to the house, with no apparent activity. The chain link gate was closed, locked and posted. Using Google Earth and Street View I was able to confirm the house is probably at the 1902 address; there is a building east of the house not visible from the road. Perhaps that building has the address 1900 Shirley Drive. I didn't see any signs or other evidence that there is any manufacturing activity of any kind. I used readily available public access data and stayed on the street. ...and that's all I know. As reported earlier in this thread I had previously driven by the original address on Britton Road in OKC and met a dead-end there as well. If anyone else has any other address I'll check it out with a drive by later.

OK Hog Shooter. Not a surprise but nice to know.
Wonder where mtngnr's man is churning out all those t-grips at?
Where's the retired LEO's in OKC, OK when you need them! Did someone say *street justice?*

Latest news on the whereabouts of the Tyler Manufacturing and Distributing Co.:

1326 W. Britton Road: There is a physical property present at this address. I was able to confirm this by a drive-by earlier this year. Based on records publicly available on the Oklahoma County Tax Assessor's website - it passed out of the Tyler Estate 01/03/03.

3804 S East Avenue: Based on records publicly available on the Oklahoma County Tax Assessor's website there are no records available for this address. A drive-by on 06/28/11 confirmed this to be true. There is no physical structure for the address 3804 S. East Avenue. The area has modest brick and wood frame homes on larger lots. There are several lots that have been cleared along the street.

1900 Shirley Drive: Based on records publicly available on the Oklahoma County Tax Assessor's website there are no records available for this address. A drive-by on 06/27/11 confirmed this to be true. There is no physical structure for the address 1900 Shirley Drive. The area has some older and some apparently fairly new homes on acreages.

That pretty well concludes my research and efforts to locate the Tyler Manufacturing and Distributing Co. I wish I could report better news. Best wishes and good luck to all you forum members that are owed T-Grips.
