I was wondering if anyone knows if there is much difference between the square butt style and round butt style for the K frame? Would one fit on the other or would there be a gap or fitting problems?

If my memory severs me well, Tyler has a different model numbers for the K-RB and K-SB.

This is absolutely correct. They are different because the front strap of the round butt is straighter than on a square butt. Put the T-3 on a round butt and there will be a gap on the bottom 1/3 or so as the adapter curves away from the frame.

Alk8944, thank you for that info - that answers my question. I've got plenty of square butt style T-Grips, so now I just have to find a round model
