tyler t grip inserts

isn't that crazy, the gun is sometime easier to acquire than a suitable grip for it? I know how you feel because as stated in earlier post one of our own came to my rescue too. so that's nice.

I wish I had ordered about 3 size 1's. but I'm pretty darn sure I got company with that one. there is a 36 that's on gunbroker that is offered with the t-grip. but this is at least the second running on that item not hitting the reserve.

The older better quality T grips seem to be getting very scrace now-a-days. I checked out a rather large gun store which I frequent who generally have whatever I might be looking for but even they didn't have a #1 grip. I received the T-Grip from LOS in todays mail and it looks and fits perfectly on my M36-1. It seems to be very well made and highly polished.
 
I'm wanting a stainless #8 for my Ruger Speed Six, but I'm afraid to order one because I've heard so many stories about having a tough time getting them. I doubt if I could find one of these locally; nobody ever has them in pawn shops around here, especially for a round butted Ruger.
 
stroked a check 9/1/2010, check cashed 9/17/2010, recieved my #1r 10/26/2010! That's faster than the previous 2 i've ordered last year and earlier this year. Also, the fit was much better on the one i just recieved. Maybe things are starting to look up at Tyler? We can all hope.
 
I promised LOS a picture of his former T-grip on my M36-1, square butt. They surely do compliment the new stags I received today from Patrick Grashorn. :)

nice looking stags. I am finally warming up to them and it won't be long I may need to order a pair.

the other day I was in a pawn shop and saw a 36 in 3 inch square butt. it was all rusted out so I passed. but I couldn't believe the difference in feel of a square butt j as compared to the j round. it felt better even without the tyler. so now I may need to search for a usable model. I wonder if they made the square butt in 2 inch for the model 36? guess i need to pull out the catalog again.

beautiful gun. thanks for sharing. and i notice it's NOT sporting a tyler. this may be the cure for the dreaded 5 month wait. (at least for a j-frame) I am now in the market(but I got to dig up cash) for a 36 square butt. .....btw I did check the catalog and see that there were 2-3 runs of 2 inch square butt, although no idea how many in comparison to the rb's. is this your retired duty gun or one you picked up second hand?

I'm original owner on this one bought new in 1982. I got the SB for the same reason you mentioned. It fit my hand better, not a duty gun. At the time, I prefered autos, but I wanted something light that could be a second gun and still take care of snakes - 2 or no legged ones. I usually carried a .45 in a shoulder holster, with the .38 at 3:30 OWB on the belt.

As far as the Tylers, I wanted a T grip for it, but put on some Pachmeyers since I didn't do CCW then. Now, I'd like to but not till they straighten things out. The rubber grips don't work to well in the pocket, but still good for OWB.

A RB seems to be more concealable in a pocket. But I don't have a problem with the SB in my right front pocket these days.
 
Still waiting since June 30th for my Colt Official Police T grip.

Not a common T Grip so I hope it gets done.
 
Shiny black finish #1 T Grip arrived today for my Model 31-1.

Finish looks nice. Evenly applied and no sharp edges or tooling marks. Have not fit to the revolver yet but will post pics when I do.

Can't say I'm happy with the delivery time, but the grip looks nice.

If you check you'll find I sold Ts through the Classified here for several years. I was one of only three Tyler Gold Distributors, those who ordered more than 90 Ts at a time...my average order was 125 pieces...the last order was 150.

Just a piece of advise to all who order Ts...just wait...don't bother calling, writing, emailing...nothing...just wait because that is all you can do. If you get Brian on the phone anything out of his mouth will only be what you want to hear...and then you will be just pissed off waiting some more when it doesn't come as promised.

I made my last order with the company in February of 2009..150+- pieces...estimated delivery was April. The first week of May Anna calls me and says send a check for the Ts and they will be sent out about the 21st of May...about $3400.00. I sent the check but forgot to sign it so they sent the check back and I sent them a new one...

Memorial Day came and went...then I started calling...no return calls...no return emails...we are now talking July and no delivery..and the check had long been cashed.

Finally I threatened him with arrest for fraud and that finally got his attention.... Delivery was the first week of August...and that was the end of our business dealings...

I've had several long conversations with Anna and she told me all that was going on including the whole history of the company from the time Melvin Tyler had it and sold it to Brian who I believe is a great nephew or something... It ended up as a two person business, Brian makes the Ts and she makes the shoes and does most everything else... Getting help has been a joke... One relative hired to make Ts ruined several hundred before Brian caught it...they all had to go back into the pot...

So the less they are bothered by calls and letters the more time he has to get your orders finished... I've never heard of anyone who didn't get what they ordered...it just takes a while....

How long it takes for a certain T will depend on what Ts are being made at the time of your order, how many are ahead of you for that particular type, and how fast they get everything polished, packaged and shipped...


Glad a I kept a few for myself...

Ordered a Tyler T-grip adapter Size 3R in flat black on October 15. Received it yesterday, November 5.

Not bad service at all!
 
I'm glad to see that Brian made the very conscious decision to make things right by everyone . . . but to also bust it hard to catch up. Looks like he's an upright kind of guy. HOWEVER . . .

IF he'll start investing in his company's future by getting AHEAD on his inventory. and stop living off the money of people who pre-pay, he'll see his little operation get a LOT more fun . . . and he can spend his time making grips rather than having to talk on the phone half the day to p___ off customers who have prepaid.

The key, like in all businesses, is to have enough inventory on hand to ship immediately if one wants less headaches and more profit in the long term.
