Tyler T-Grips

Wait, you're saying the T grip isn't even fully, rigidly held on the grip?! Hard to fathom, but these things are even worse than I thought.

Grip adapters have fans and haters.

I have used magna stocks and grip adapters (Tyler, Pachmyer, Mershon and S&W) on revolvers from 22 LR to the 44 Magnum. They all performed well and improved the way the revolver held in my hand.

The closest wood stock I found to the magna/adapter combination is this old pair of slightly modified target stocks on my competition revolver.

Well my check was cashed 05-22-2020, not heard a word. Politely texted two weeks ago asking for an update, no reply at all.

Funny how money coming in seems to be able to be processed quickly and efficiently, while product going out seems to be affected much more by extraneous events...

I couldn't agree more!! I ordered 3 for my snubbies
They quickly cashed my check in July 2020, I've called, I've emailed and I've texted them, no response.
It's now January 2021, 6 months later and nothing....

No need to shout, at least not at us... ;)

There are several 'Tyler' threads, and I missed this one when I was updating...

I received my adapters on December 26, 2020. They were ordered at the end of December 2019.

It does seem that you will eventually get your grip adapters, but that certainly doesn't excuse the lack of communication. As I said in another thread, if they were up front about a year wait, I don't think anyone would care. Many of us wait that long for custom gunsmithing or custom leather without complaint. It's the '3 weeks' quoted on the site, and utter lack of communication after payment that infuriates the customer.

Thanks for the reply Rodan. It's good to hear you received your Ts albeit a year later. Reading their website which periodically has been updated during the past year, further created concern and frustration where they say they are shipping in 3 to 6 weeks. Your order took 52 weeks, mine has been 27 weeks without any communication.
Again, glad to hear your order got delivered. You're correct, had they simply been more transparent, customers like us can make an informed decision prior to sending in our hard-earned money.
If it's gonna be a year, tell me that up front.

Right. Other companies, online pet medication, utilities, whatever cash our checks instantly but when there's hang ups on their end they pull the "'COVID card" for excuses.
Personally I prefer the old Pach grip adapters. They feel better to me though they tend to wobble a little even when the screws tight. Tyler's are solid. Because of the endless horrible customer service from Tyler's I've seen here, how can anyone tolerate such a long wait with no responses?

Anyone interested in setting up a 'Tyler T-grip Betting Pool'?

You enter the date ordered, bets are placed on a delivery date, and notification given on the actual delivery date...... ;)

The eagle has landed, I repeat.... the 🦅 has landed

Super happy, :)
my July 2020 T-Grip order arrived today Feb 01, 2021.

I'm not sure why people who have been waiting over six months without replies from the company don't call the Oklahoma Attorney General's office and report them for fraud. If enough of you do that, they'll either get shut down or will need to actually do the job they've been paid to do and produce the adapters.

By the way, when did the name change to "Tomahawk Grips"? Is this the old "change our name to stay ahead of the law" tactic?

It's astonishing anyone would even consider buying from this merchant.

smh

I had to wait 13 months to get mine, never heard a word it just showed up one day. Poor manners and or business practices doesn't constitute fraud. A little communication goes a long way.

Yes, it actually does. Taking money for a product for sale and not delivering it is fraud. I'm confident that the reason they don't take credit cards for payment is because the credit card companies require that they not charge the card until the order is fulfilled.

I think some here on the forum might not ought to consider ordering anything that takes 7 months or more to receive.

- Same principle as not buying a lot of green bananas ;)

That's absolutely true if the customer never receives it and you can prove intent to defraud - I haven't heard of anyone not receiving their adapters, just long waits and no communication.
I waited 13 months, but I still received it.

Do you have specific knowledge of someone ordering from Tyler and them not delivering? At worst you would have a civil/small claims action. I am not happy with them and their crappy customer service and will never order from them again, but I wasn't defrauded. Their website acknowledges their tardiness and willingness to refund payment if you're not happy with the protracted wait.

There are legal requirements for other forms of payment, as well.

FTC site

It certainly appears they are in violation of federal laws.

IANAL

Regardless, still can't fathom giving this merchant a penny.

From the link above they still appear to be violating the law and what is required of them.

To paraphrase they have a legally implied ship date of 30 days and are legally required to communicate delays and/or refund payment.

It does not appear intent, website acknowledgement nor willingness to refund alleviate then from these legal obligations.

Again, IANAL.

Feel free to search the forum, as there are many Tyler threads with many people who haven't received the products they ordered.

A reasonable person would conclude long before 13 months had passed that they had been defrauded of their money because they didn't receive the product and received no responses to outreach from the company.

Frankly, you're lucky your order showed up.
