How can I make this work and not ruin my rifle ?

If possible I would like to know what to purchase so I can toss it together

I can't find the thread now, but previously I found a thread on this forum that noted that the UBR stock worked great on the M&P provided you use the JP Enterprises silent captured recoil spring. I just added this combination to my M&P and will be giving it a test at the range tomorrow. I will report back on how it runs.

EDIT: this is the recoil buffer & spring assembly that I used: 308 AR Silent Captured Standard Spring System : 308 AR SILENT CAPTURED SPRING SYSTEM | Brownells

Yeah, it's pricey. I already had the UBR stock from a previous build that I had changed out, so it wasn't too bad. It does look and feel great on the M&P 10, though. Be aware that the UBR is kind of heavy. It adds almost a full pound to the rifle over a Magpul CTR stock.

Just got back from the range and I'm happy to report that the weapon cycled and ran perfectly in this configuration. I fired about 120 rounds of American Eagle 150gr with absolutely no problems.

This configuration of Magpul UBR stock and JP Enterprises captive recoil spring is good to go!
