"SNOW SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT FOLLOWED BY EXTREMELY COLD WIND CHILL READINGS MONDAY INTO TUESDAY. * ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 8 TO 12 INCHES. * TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP SUNDAY MORNING. THE SNOW MAY BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND THEN TAPER OFF SUNDAY EVENING"

I always say, if it's gonna be winter, let there be snow! :D  We've had a record breaking snowfall for December this year. 12.5" (roughly) vs. 3.2" before. There's 6"-8" on the ground now.

I like 3 day weekends! ;)

Sounds like the northeast is in for heck of a storm. You just keep getting hammered. As long as you keep it up there it is ok with me. We have a cold front moving in this eve with some snow predicted but I think it will be a dry front from what I see on the weather. The weather guys never know till it hits. Don't over do it shoveling that white stuff. Stay warm.

SO.....You're not having to swat mosquitoes are you?:D:D:rolleyes:

I saw on the news today, somewhere it was, they were shooting water guns filled with colored water...When they shot them, the water was freezing as soon as it left...Kind of neat:cool:

Here in Illinois we're looking at somewhere around 8 as well... And temps dipping down to -12 or worse. Ugh. Good luck everybody. :(

The world has really gone upside down.
Not a snowflake here, just rain.
This time of the year we should have at least one meter of snow

Hey, this is the perfect time to take out a fliver, go to some big open parking lot and cut some donuts....Be a kid again!!!!!

I want to know where my Global Warming is. All the hooplah led me to start looking forward to Michigan being the next Southern California with movie studios and hot young blonds parading around in barely there outfits.

So, what do I get, up to 12 inches of snow and a predicted 10 below for Monday night.

I just got another load of wood today and have the porch loaded down and covered for the snow when it gets here. My quad is ready with the plow and hope it can handle it okay as it's only been tested on small snowfalls the past couple years.
The real cold temps arriving after the snow is what I really dread. Hopefully the power holds out as we were without 5 days over Christmas after the ice storm. I worked on the generator as it was running rough before and hope I cured that too.
I guess I'm as ready as I can be now.

Sometime Sunday, were getting an "Arctic blast" through here but the clincher is--its basically only going to be a glancing blow-and nothing like y'all are getting. The temps are actually supposed to be below freezing (at night only) for two days. We havent has a freeze here in years.

We're supposed to be sub zero for a couple of days too. I love it when someone brings up Global Warming. I just ask them "What happened to the Glaciers?"

Wouldn't it be great to have a job where you are wrong 50% of the time and still get paid?

A couple of guys I work with are Farmers. They said their Dad trained them well. Whenever they had a major event planned that they needed an accurate weather forecast, he'd listen to the local news and do the exact opposite. If the weatherman called for rain, they'd plant. If he said sunny, they work on their equipment! :D True story.

In Central Ohio, we are on the border of 1-3" and 4-8" followed by -10 F. The wife and I just came in from shoveling snow up around the house. This help with the wind chill. We've fill the wood rack to over flowing, and on the way home from church, I plan to buy K-1 as the last ditch back-up. Sometimes I feel like Scott at the south pole. Ivan

I am already tired of cold & snow...and this nonsense just started.

GET OFF MY LAWN! Oh wait...is that my driveway?

here in the Chicago area, we can deal with any amount of snow that is thrown at us...remember 1967 and 1999.

but the day time temperature for Monday is forecast at MINUS 19 with 20 mph winds........I better recharge the batteries in my electric underwear....

My question with all these record low temps.....where the hell is Al Gore? What about the global warming they told us was happening? The South Pole ice cap is bigger than ever. I'd be willing to bet that there's a nut out there that'll try to place all these record cold temps on global warming.

Good luck all of you as I sit here in shorts and a tee shirt.

The arctic cold has to go somewhere. As I recall, last year, Europe was blasted while North America was spared. It's a matter of how far south & where the jet stream is.
